Create Simple Motion Comics Using After Effects

A basic introduction to creating animated motion comics using the basic tools included in After Effects.
This video will show you how to create a great looking animation from a flat 2D image. Instead of using Photoshop I separate the layers using the mask tool, and fill in the background using the clone stamp tool. I also use 3D layers and cameras and a few other tools to make this a simple but effective way to generate some motion from a flat comic panel.
There are so many different ways to do this, so I will definitely need to do a few more videos on motion comics soon!

You are criminally underrated by the RU-vid Algorithm. Hard to say why, Everything is perfect from the audio quality to the tutorial. Can you do a tutorial or two on Manga and Comics Panel animation ?

how do I make it look like my comic character is breathing? im doing one of spider-man & I want it to look like u can see his chest expanding as if he was breathing

I did this with Wolverine a while ago, sorry I dont have a tutorial for that. But I basically separated all of his body parts in Photoshop -Arms, Torso, head, and legs. Then I pin arms and head to torso, and torso to legs. I key framed very subtle rotation and scale movements to torso and subtle rotation to the arms. Make sure the rotation anchor points are in the correct spots (Torso anchor point located center of hips)

how do I loop it? I just copy n paste the key frames?

Depends on what you are trying to loop exactly. Looping the whole comp, you could certainly copy and paste the entire comp into a new composition and loop as many times as you like or follow the steps here: blog.frame.io/2023/04/12/insider-tips-how-to-loop-a-composition-in-after-effects/
