Wow you did an incredible job man!!! I've looked at 20+ videos on this topic and none of them come close to being as helpful as yours, thank you. Please let me know if you have a patron or TikTok
Awesome tutorial! I am new to sublimation and I am interested in placing an order with you, however I would like to know what’s the difference between a dolphin coated and a sublicraft mug? I would like one that will upstand dishwasher and keep it’s color. Thank you
If you're using a Sawgrass printer, you must print through Sawgrass Print Manager. If you're using a different sublimation printer, you'll need to find the right color profile (usually available from the ink supplier). It's also possible you're overcooking your transfers. Try to reduce your time and/or temperature to see if that helps.
Following the steps exactly but my margins aren’t in the same place as yours. Trying to figure out where I went wrong? Under colour profile, your setting says ‘display’, this isn’t an option on my drop down. Could that be the reason?
The color profile shouldn't have any effect on the margins. (But if that option is coming up, you may need to update your version of Photoshop.) How far off is your practice template from what's in the video?
Once you've followed all the steps in this video, save your image as a JPEG or PNG (I personally use PNG). Then set up a new print template. Create a new graphic that measures 8.5"x11" at a minimum 300dpi. Then drag your PNG file into your workspace, duplicate the layer, and arrange them so they both fit on the page.
Forget "save as" on that template, just add a "t" to the end of your main template PSD file extension name and every time you open this new psdt file, it will open as a new file so you don't run the risk of accidentally making changes to your original template. It is always safe. If you ever want to make changes to this original template file permanently, just remove the "t" from the file extension name, make your changes, save and add the "t" again. You now have your updated template again ready to use every time you double click on it.
This video covers installation and first print. Check it out to make sure you didn't miss any steps in the installation of Sawgrass Print Manager: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lunLovnnhOI.html If you're using a Mac computer, you'll have to save your Photoshop file as a PNG or JPEG. Then click on the SPM icon, select "Open Local File", and choose your saved file.
Sublimation prints will always look a little dull out of the printer. They get their signature vibrant color when you heat press them. Try pressing your transfer and see how the colors look on the finished product.
@@HeatPressNation yes, I'm familiar. But if I print out from PM directly the colors are much brighter before pressing them. I'm holding them side by side and the colors are much more vibrant on the PM one before pressing.
Photoshop is the standard across many industries. There are more online tutorials for Photoshop than any other program. Essential may not have been the best word choice, but I will say it's very darn important and valuable to learn as a professional in this industry. -Jared
