Excellent tutorial with some neat tricks. Love the colour range mask and radial gradients. This strikes me though as tasteful landscape image editing rather than an "orton glow". Lightroom would really benefit from a dedicated glow slider. I believe some of the other raw editors have one. Thanks again, great work!
Thank you very much! I agree a glow slider would be great, I think Skylum Lumiar has something like an Orton Glow slider (and much more "creative effects" sliders)
Hi Christian, well done on showing some of the options masking can bring to photo editing in LrC. The possibilities with masking became much more advanced since the previous last LR upgrade, but I’m sure loads of users are a little lost with this. Especially with working inside a mask.
Thank you for commenting! I agree, masking has progressed sooo much in Lightroom but it also got a bit harder to understand (especially with things like luminance range mask or intersecting masks)
interesting approach; however, I have the feeling that the result is more "pop" with one-click filter in ON1 and Luminar neo. would be interesting to compare three images.
Hello Christian. What causes some sliders to move when I engage a mask? These sliders are exposure, highlights, shadows and whites and saturation. This happens as soon as I click mask. Seems like some kind of preset but I have not applied any presets. Do you have a solution? I am using Lightroom Classic on my MacBook Pro. Everything is up to date.
Hey, that seems very strange. I assume you're using Lightroom Classic as well right? At the top of the menu of the mask (just above exposure) There is a checkbox "Reset Sliders Automatically" is this checked for you? Because if not, the Mask will automatically get the settings from a previous mask I think
Thank you Christian, shortly after contacting you I found this checkmark had been unchecked. Now everything works fine. Your videos are excellent and I love to watch them and I learn a lot. Ciao! @@ThePhlogPhotography
