In this advanced demo we design a large 'Sabina Juniper' Bonsai tree. It was collected in the mountains of Spain about four years prior to this styling. The work was done by Rafael Torres and Bjorn Bjorholm, who teaches several online courses on our website:

Doesn't look natural in my opinion

I understand what you are saying, but no bonsai look truly natural, especially not the contemporary Japanese style. On the other hand, nothing is more natural than yamadori, nature created most of this image. It's very unusual in that there's no clear trunk with a triangle on top. And it's not my cup of tea, but I can see that that's why some people would like it.

It looks totally natural except the clean bark and the tidy foliage. You clearly don't live in a place with yamadori junipers. I do. www.bonsaiblu.it/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/ginepro-blu-bonsai.jpg

When you think of it, it is actually so sad we can't enjoy the beauty of these kind of trees in their natural environment because someone thought it was cool to rip them off their habitat and put them in a pot...
@stephenkoebcke9070

most people " in the wild " probably never saw this or a lot of the yamadori that are collected because of where the trees were. it had a rough long life, the beautiful shape and foliage testify to that, now it will be cared for under the best of conditions. also the persons family can enjoy it for generations now, along side others when it is shone in a show, probably more in one day than ever saw it in the wild it's whole life. around the world there's not a lot of places to collect, flat out prohibited or by limited permits like here, so I doubt bonsai artists will deplete the tree population. but share with the world the beauty of nature in person that most don't go out into . Not sad at all. Now it can be enjoyed by many people. Most Forrest is clear cut for your consumer goods.
