Is your neighborhood in Southern California? I ask because she was able to grow Mangos and what a delicious fruit that is! Of course, Florida can grow Mangos as well. 👏
My home owner’s association would have a COW if we tried to have a front yard this heavily planted. But... they usually leave us alone re: the back yard. I am most impressed that after several back surgeries and in chronic pain, she is doing all of this!!!! She isn’t complaining, but she is not comfortable if she is still wearing a back brace. Bless her. She’s amazing.
Chantal, thank you for your message, I am in tears. I have had that voice for the last year. It just looks impossible!! You have inspired me. Thank you. On this 4000 square meter jungle I will just start with two squares a day!!!
Most plants are edible according to a group of enthusiastic people I met in North Italy a few years ago. They didn't just talk, we went walking in the hills surrounding the town where I lived - a 5 minute walk - and collected all sorts of plants, herbs and vines. Then they cooked risotto with the plants we gathered at the local Italian Alpine Club: it was delicious! 🤗🙏🌞💖😇
"We don't have many things to connect us to our past" I felt that hard. I'm Armenian, and it's really hard to find any sort of family records or anything since the genocide. Anyone who has records of your family or things passed down through generations, be grateful for it!
The very real experience of Africans throughout the Diaspora, not born on the Continent, resulting from the enslavement . Definitely can relate. DNA tracing will help.
I will be praying that the Lord Almighty helps you to stay healthy so you can continue doing this ministry you are doing, God bless you and your family Chantal
Pardon the copypasta but I thought a previous comment I made was relevant to what this wonderful woman was saying. Permaculture could change the world as we know it. Imagine a world where all the lawns are replaced with food forests. Bountiful fresh food within an arms reach of your door. It would bring our society to it's knees and make people question if this system really is so good. With daily meals free to everyone, the biggest whip of the masses is useless. People would see that their jobs are just a means of obtaining a daily meal, giving them more bargaining power and freedom to choose what they want to do. The workers of the world break their chains and create a society that meets everyone's basic needs. A society that allows people to work towards their own goals and society's advancement in their own way without forcing themselves into servitude of people seeking a bigger high score. Obesity, hunger, climate change, water scarcity, wage slavery, homelessness, child poverty, depression, anxiety, isolation, supply line shortages, famine, mass extinctions, deforestation, animal cruelty. We just need to take one small step. One small step to freedom. One small step towards tomorrow. That world is here. Waiting for us to make the first move.
Bundles of thanks to Rob Greenfield and Chantal Lemoine for sharing this inspiring video and project. How beautiful all this is and the lovely and inspiring lady! This year I will endeavour to create and provide a swap box for excess produce, and a basket of home-made jams with an honesty box at my front garden gate. I have been interested to try Biodynamics, but watching this has encouraged me to go ahead and do it! :-D
Chantal you are a blessing to this planet. I'm trying to do my part and plant as much as I can on my little 1/4 acre. I keep saying if I plant something it has to give back to me in some way and that is a healthier life with healthy foods to eat and it's just out my front door!
Chantal's hat is EVERYTHING! I love it! Thank you for sharing this video - her garden is amazing and I feel so inspired. I am so happy to see her talking about the work of Vandana Shiva as well. I have seen her speak at a conference and she is a powerful force for change in this world. Blessings to all x
I'm encouraged to keep trying. Pain makes me slow but seeing that beauty can come in spite of it motivates me to get back to work planting. Thank you for sharing your beauty!
I love that people are really starting to learn more about gardening and the many benefits of doing so for the body, mind, and soul. And, thanks for sharing Chantal's story, very moving!
Ok bc of this very video then followed link for her page I read her story. I know I can do this too. 😊 although I’m older I’m going to learn how to make a garden somehow and learn how to plant and grow my own foods for me and my children. 🙏🥰😊🙏🙌🏻
Very interesting lady and I admire her stamina and go do it attitude! This is the way we are meant to live! I know my great grandparents came to Canada from Germany and grew their food , raised cows etc. Hard work was done. They traded with the indigenous people and I still have a corn basket that they used. I also grew up with a big back yard garden full of vegetables , and an apple tree, raspberries, and strawberries. And visited my grandmother's huge garden with cherry and peach trees and lots of veggies. We shared with our neighbors and often invited friends for supper on weekends. We were poor financially, but did our best!
I wish there was someone here in the Twin Cities like Chantal. I'd love to learn from her & help her out too. She's so precious. Such a lovely woman with a big heart :)
@@chandrikatilwalli4741 I wish I could. I'm new to where I live. I also live in an apt without a patio so I only have room for a few indoor plants. When I have a house with a big yard like Chantal, I'd love to follow in her footstep & connect with Mother Earth while helping my community. She Is Inspiring :)
@@kollettevan9746 I am sending good positive thoughts you way . You know that your going to have a house and a garden. . You can look into renting a space in the community garden for the season . In our area village offers a plot of 20 \30 area for nominal price. You can also look into green stalk planters , you can grow greens and herbs indoors. I am glad you have indoor plants. I think you are going to be a leader like Chantel . Wish you all the best.
@@patriciastewart2537 The Maria Thun Biodynamic calendar is published yearly and is available on Amazon. They also have an app BD Garden available for a yearly fee. The Stella Natura calendar is also in print yearly and available through their website at stellanatura.com. I also use a free app called Moon & Garden. Hope that helps! Happy gardening! Chantal
Wow, what a beautiful story. Gardening is amazing thing, it has certainly changed my life. Peace surrounds me daily being in the garden. Today I can working on a mini orchard and I could not be happier.
Wow! What an amazingly beautiful soul spreading so much love! So grateful for your presence:) same to you rob! Your equally as beautiful soul! as are we all namaskar
One must be an awesome individual to see life from this perspective and to take initiative to create in this manner. I see beauty, nourishment, creativity.....just so much! Respect!
Quand je vois les aînés que nous avons, je reste impressionné par leur énergie et leur vitalité. Il faut profiter de leur savoir avant de le perdre. Merci Rob, merci Chantal. Vous êtes inspirants.
I really enjoyed this video. Ms. Chantal is so awesome and has a loving sweet spirit and concern for the teaching and well being of her neighbors (community and global). The world needs more people like her. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless!💕
Wow! What a great story! I specially loved the story of the aloe plant. We have one that my seven year old great granddaughter calls the "boo-boo" plant.
Thank you for this beautiful lady. Thank you for all your encouragement! I loved all you’ve done to help others. It shows your love for your neighbors. And I’m sure you are loved by them!❤️
Wonderful and inspiring ❤️ ...loved the story of the aloe from Africa, simply amazing...I am carrying on a family tradition of gardening here in Connecticut...my father’s family is from Greece where they still tend olive trees, some 800 years old planted by our ancestors...the olive tree is sacred to Greeks and the Mediterranean peoples...
Classy lady, I share her passion for my organic garden and food forest. It's the most important movement happening right now in society. To grow our own food and help others do the same in the spirit of community. We are all one. Namaste.
Lovely inspiration by dr Chantal. I am so moved. Where did the BACK BRACE come from (purchased)? It looks very supportive appreciate the help...and thanks ROB for sharing😍👏👏❣
Thanks so much for your comment! The back brace is an old one from Miami Lumbar - they probably make a newer model, but this one helped me a great deal. I had a spinal fusion in December and following the surgery I was given a newer, similar brace from Ottobock. I hope this helps, Chantal.
