Hey mate, I’m a big believer in getting which ever animal you are most interested in. That way you would hopefully continually improve the housing and care of the animal over the years. In saying that if you were thinking of a sand monitor I would recommend having an outdoor pit or aviary once they are adult due to the size of the lizard and their extreme activity levels.
