Does the boy buy the nosegay for the girl, or does she buy it for herself? Does she also wear a corsage?

Yes, the boy will buy the nosegay or corsage for the girl, and she will buy the boutonniere for him. That is typically how it's done but we have had a parent or child come in and purchase both their corsage and bout. The girl will typically either wear a corsage or hold a nosegay; but I have seen some pictures recently of some young ladies having both!
