@@jbachman01 The classic Speed Garage had a 4-to-the-floor beat with syncopated breakbeats (e.g. 187 Lockdown, Double 99, Scott Garcia). The later 2-Step Garage a two-step beat (MJ Cole, Artful Dodger, DJ Luck & MC Neat).

@@danielrast generally no breaks in speed garage, 2step was concurrent also. Its really easy to identify speed garage literally every speed garage tune sounds like the AVH remix of spin spin sugar. The classic jungle style bassline is the main thing.

UK Garage was 4/4 before establishing the 2 step rhythm as it started life with uk garage djs playing us garage sped up a bit.

@@lafluerpeter9 that’s a ridiculous comment. Everything was something before it became something else. Speed garage may had been 4/4. Uk garage was 2 step. In the beginning he states making a uk garage track not a speed garage track as the title of the video suggests. They are two different things. Like house, acid house etc. coming from the scene and the era he is talking about, it’s a genre insult to call what he made in the video “UKG”. No offence, you just clearly have no idea about UKG. Where are you from ?

@@Dan81 I have no idea about uk g 😅😅😅😅 mate I was around in it's early inception, mixing it and still have my vinyl today so don't tell me I don't know about ukg mate. Where am I from, originally Croydon where a lot of ukg and dubstep producers came from (artwork, hatcha, scream and benga to name a few) i shopped for vinyl in big apple and swag among others. You said and I quote "ukg is 2 step" no mate 2 step is a subgenre of uk garage not it's definitive, garage before the 2 step element was mainly 4/4 because early ukg producers like hermit Dominic spreadlove paul trouble anderson spoony etc were playing sped up us garage at after party events in elephant and castle thus uk producers made their first tracks in that style. There's a great documentary on youtube that might educate you a bit called rewind 4eva, I suggest you give it a watch. As for what this geeza is calling his track I don't know, i see the title about speed garage, clicked and listened to the intro tune and there wasn't an element of speed garage in any of it, mainly niche sound and bassline.

@@Dan81 Cool I'll have a look out on discogs and try and put 2&2 together, probably get nowhere. Looking at a online post it stated speed garage then became known as UK garage and 2 step so I'll concede some defeat, I just remember that the more four to the floor sound was still more prominent (maybe to me) before hearing the 2 step element.
