old school DJ here, looks like I just found my source for valuable production info. I went to the website and was delighted to see a 1200 turntable front and center. I have not been interested in online courses etc. until now.
Love that Thomas Penton pack. Been rinsing it for years. Guess the cat's out of the bag now 😂. Josh, when you're auditioning drum sounds, try dropping one sound in and then use the hot swap in simpler to cycle through the sounds while your groove is playing. That way you hear the sound in context as opposed to in isolation in the browser. It speeds up the process and makes it easier to find sounds that fit. Was a game changer for me when I started doing it.
can't tell 100% if the entire hard drive is being searched (it's grayed out but i've had active folders i am able to search through appear grayed out too, so idk) but that could be why your ableton is freezing when searching, it's not usually a good idea to add an entire drive to the library -- great video though thanks for posting it
Since it was created in the late 90's to early 00's, Before tech house became the formulated genre it is today. It's worth going down the rabbit hole and educating yourself.
@@joshbakermusic I understand UK Garage is originated in UK, and called UK Garage. But I mean, Tech House is still Tech House, a lot of American producers, as well, :D It'd be funny to call it USA Tech House, but if you mean, you are going the style of how UK producers do, I have nothing to say... :D It's great to keep these genres alive! I am not sure if you checked out the Tech House on Digitally Imported, but I am not sure, whether there are newer songs always, or also includes older songs...
