I think instead of saying supportive men are rare, it's better to suggest that finding you're person is not instantaneous. Not every person you meet us going to love themselves enough to have the ability to support another person. I think that also goes for ourselves. We humans, have to be self sufficient before we can take on supporting, or asking for support from, someone else. Both men and women.

Watched this last night before bed! I love that it was as long as a TV show episode. I got to settle in and really enjoy your homestead - and you guys! This channel wouldn’t be the same without your personalities and interactions with each other and your adorable children. About a week ago, my husband and I were preparing to buy a homestead in the Cascades, but the opportunity fell through. While I’m at peace with it, I can’t help homesteading vicariously through your videos! 😉

When you figure out how to get Rex to vacuum the couch will you please share. I’ve got a couple of cats that need to be educated on such things. 🤣

Yaaaaaas! Aeropresses are the BEST! My sister and her husband own Tinderbox (a coffee roaster and cafe in Aberdeen, WA.) We went on a road-trip a few years ago, bringing an Aeropress and Tinderbox coffee with us, so we could have good coffee every morning. The other hotel guests thought we were crazy, but we knew better ;) I will check your blog for a mailing address and send you some amazing coffee if you have one. I hope your grinder comes quickly! Have you considered regenerative farming? Rotating the animals on several sections of pasture..you wouldn't have to till, and it's so much better for the soil as the animals fertilize as they go. Justin Rhodes is an amazing resource for this.

Bacopas are the window box ones you didn't know. I love them. And no offense, but I'm so freaking grateful to see someone with as beautiful gardens as you have deal with bind weed. I thought it was just me and then I see these stunning videos and think everyone else must live where weeds don't exist. lol. Bindweed, mallow, thistle and burdock are my enemies. What do you mulch with?

It might be less work if you go permaculture methods and integrate the animals to do the "tilling" by moving them over the land ...paddock to paddock then seeding and transplant is easier... the soil will improve much faster and as a result . you get more abundance...

Does it take y’all 30 mins to load up to take a 5 minute road trip? We can relate to that

Also, have you heard of the Ruth stout method. There is a Canadian couple who started testing it out a few years ago and have had very good luck with it for onions, garlic, and potatoes. If it also works in your area, it could free up a lot of your time for other things in the garden

As a suggestion, when you have plants (root bound in the container) from the nursery to pot in a planter, damage the root system prior to placement and then water well after tucked in with soil. You can grab hold of bottom with fingers (thumb plus 2 fingers) like taking cotton candy from cone, and pinch out about an inch of roots and percolite- soil. This will stimulate setting roots into base soil and reaching out for moisture as well as creating healthier plant growth. Remove dead/dying leaves and flowers. I can tell you guys have a certain knowledge/experience level with a sophisticated perspective. You remind me of many French and other European culture people. Happy birthday!

I also panic when I am away from my good home cooking. We are always disappointment when eating out or traveling 😔 our last flight home the airline royally flipped up and didn't serve any food for over 10hours...everyone was sick from lack of food.

My favorite part of life is having a great fresh brewed cup of coffee relaxing in the early morning when conditions are favorable and there is no rush to move on but it feels like this will last forever and all is right in the world. Unfortunately, soon, reality checks in and spoils the feeling. Time to be constructive! Yuk.

You guys should check out the RU-vid channel Urban Farmer Curtis Stone. Check on a lot of his old stuff. He shows you how to kill the weeds in your yard with heat and a black tarp. It's amazing! Any shows you how to compost more efficiently to get more compost faster. And also shows you different tools. And just gives you different perspectives on different farms. And helps you sell things better in the market. I'm telling you to take a look at him it's amazing
