I'm a creator too, and I get you 100%. I'm also letting go of the old (for me, it's being an explainer video expert), and embracing a new role of reviewing tools and sharing tutorials with online educators. One tip I can share is simple, but hard to follow: just keep making videos about what you care about. People will care about you, the sender. Like we do, about you :) I don't care about human design at all, but I still follow you 🤗

Having said that, RU-vid def prefers you talk about gear, software and what not. Is that why you're switching? Or is it cause you're ready to leap? Just curious! I’m just now getting started with video for my business but I’ve been following you for a couple years. I’ve also been introduced to human design through you. I had no idea what it was at first and I can honestly say that learning about human design and it has been life changing for me! PS - I’m also a projector! Since I’ve learned about human design I’ve been sharing it with friends, family and whoever else I feel it would benefit and be interested in learning more. Keep on doing you Amanda! Just Bravo! Thank you for modeling vulnerability and uncertainty. It's refreshing and authentic. We see plenty of polish and cleverness which provides its own value, but it's not real life over the long term. And I feel we need more reality for our collective wellbeing. 🙏

Thanks for sharing this... I have the 28 as my Design sun, and I can feel the urge to burn everything down... I am also the sole provider for my family at the moment, and I am questioning my current occupation, considering becoming a content creator... This has given me a lot to think about.

I literally feel you. I want to use human design, but feel like I should be doing other things, and so many times I just feel stuck. This idea of wanting to start over, and I am no where near where you are. The shoulds and the algorithm are starting to take away from being who we are. My heart is to help women live out loud- and do what they are feeling called to do not because of the likes. Keep going! Keep using your voice!!! Live your life out loud
Ahh i love your mission! It's soooo needed! From only a few weeks after posting this, things really do feel so much lighter. I can't express just how much clarity comes with action. I'm a Projector too and this video resonates so much. I need to be my own boss and I need to be remote 50% of the time to support my energy. Im currently having trouble on what to post... Amanda. You are amazing! Just because RU-vid and the algorithm gods want people to be one-dimensional, one-trick ponies tirelessly producing content to draw in advertising dollars for them doesn't mean that the rest of us want or expect that from you. As Barbara Sher with her appropriately-titled "Refuse to Choose" book showed, life doesn't always have to consist of "EITHER-OR" choices, even if computer programmers prefer it that way. A "THIS AND THAT, TOO" approach creates the amazing diversity that Human Design, and other systems like it, aim to make people consciously aware of. Every string that you add to your bow allows your uniqueness to shine through more clearly, and there are always patterns from the domain you are coming from that you can apply to the domain you are entering into to enhance your understanding of it and then present a new take on it that no-one else but you can have because no-one else has had exactly the same life experiences as you. I think if your tag line generalised to something along the lines of "I help people to remove the obstacles to making great videos about the topics they are passionate about", you may find that the two topics could actually complement each other really well instead of having to choose between them. And if the algorithm can't cope with you being a constantly growing and evolving multidimensional human being with many different passions and interests, perhaps you could be your full self in more specifically-targeted markets who love that you have different facets and then lay the breadcrumbs back to your channel rather than trying to squeeze yourself into the box that RU-vid wants to put you into for the sake of algorithmic convenience. I watch your videos because I like your style and love learning so I'm happy to follow along with you as you explore new fields. Wishing you every success in whatever you do going forward and thanking for your inspirational work so far.🤗🙋
Hi Amanda, I completelly understand what you are saying as I am also in the phase where I feel lots of uncertainity. But at the sametime I would say, that you are doing a right thing, even though it feels inconsistent etc. I feel that more and more content is about the people that you can relate to and once you are too consistent, not hesitating, it feels more like a robot and not a human being. And honestly I discovered human design on your channel and I love it. As you evolve, your adience evolves too, and that is a good thing!
What kind of uncertainty are you facing? I'm curious how you've been leaning into your human design to move through it (if at all). I love that you dove into human design after I introduced it. It's SUCH a powerful tool during this transition!!!
Amanda, Im very gratefull for this video and your transparent sharing. As a 3/5P is very valuable to watch your struggle and process of creating new identity with alignment with your energy. Even with mentoring, groups, skills and tons of work is not easy for you and it is kind of release not everybody making milions with t-shirt ;) Im on stage of transforming conditioned > conditioner and this shift is no new and so unknown but taking the time to make this puzzle right, be gentle for yourself. Im learning to let go of things that my old identity carried. I wish also you beautifull rebirth and creativity in lightness ;)

I feel you! I just commented on another comment of yours. Overall, the trick is to find the core of who you are and create from that place. There's an overlap in your interests that has an underlying message that incorporates all of you. Finding it is challenging but it's worth the effort! I think those that can find it are the ones who are set up for long term success rather than quick social media sprints here and there.
Hey sweetheart. I had been watching your videos from way back and then noticed this Human Design stuff and wondered "Where is she going? What happened to her channel?" Left for a while, came back, saw you were still on this different path. Watched this video and it gave me a little aha moment. I know nothing about Human Design and it all seems a little fuzzy and out there, but I'm here for it. Because none of the other "content creator" methods were clicking with me. Now I think I'm feeling more prepared to do my thing.
I’m daily vlogging for 150 days straight. I do whatever I want. I also own two restaurants so don’t depend on RU-vid for income. It’s a personal challenge and a video diary for myself.
Way to gooooo 🙌 i can only imagine the personal journey you've gone on with this challenge. Plus, no matter what comes of it (which I'm sure a lot will), you'll always look back on these 150 days with nostalgia and be so grateful for the moments that were captured. When I first started, my tagline was "documenting the past by capturing the present and altering the future because of it". This still deeply resonates with me. It's so real. Documenting in the now will not only be nostalgic but it will change your path moving forward. Keep doing it 💪 (but also don't burn yourself out!!!)

I definitely relate to the feeling of repeating yourself on the channel, even though it's a message we believe in and want to share it can make you feel like you're just re-working the same things in new ways but the message doesn't really change, so you don't get the same buzz from it - is that what you mean? I love that you have embraced your passion for human design, and included it along with your other video tips related stuff. Some people may not get it, but that's ok - they will still watch your other stuff and if you decide to go down another new path with content I'm sure it will be a hit for some and maybe not others, but isn't that the same with all the videos we create? You know it's April 12th and I have yet to post a video to this "New" channel of mine... In part because this isn't my first channel and like you I felt out of alignment with my original channel (which got deleted and I regret that decision every day). I wanted to start on the right path and between life getting in the way and me just being extremely analytical about the particulars of my content and how to piece it all together without confusing people. The rawness of this video really hit home for me because I've recorded plenty and a lot of it looks like the "I should just start over because this video makes absolutely no sense..." and with this being a very big business endeavor for me it can't just be "for fun" and has to practically align with my business goals. And yet here I am 3 1/2 months in to 2023 and not one published video. What I can say is the more days that pass the more your plate will fill (welcome to parenthood btw) and the harder to balance it becomes. Like my wife likes to tell me, "Just go for it, who cares!" it's quite simple despite being loaded so just go for it!
Your wife sounds like a great supporter!! What a gift 💝 and oh man oh man, I am SURE kids only get crazier. I can totally see it. This quote came to me recently and I'd love to pass it to you in case it's helpful ... "your soul can record videos but only your body can click publish". I had a mastermind group encourage me to hit publish on this one. I was ready to scrap it (I'll likely share the story in next week's video). I just needed a little push. So now I'm pushing you!! As scary as it is, clarity comes with hitting publish.
@@AmandaHorvath Oh yes, she's an amazing supporter and easily my no.1 fan and I think that's HUGE because more and more I see not everyone gets that level of support. So yeah we have 4 kids, 2 teenage boys, 2 toddler girls... my plate is FULLLLL ha. It's not an issue of being afraid to publish, it's an issue of will this video align with my goals and still fit in with the next 5 videos. I'm an over thinker, being a corporate analyst I have to be, but it's a crutch when it comes to the creative world of RU-vid. Regardless, love the channel, I've been subbed to it from my leisure channel for a couple years now and you are easily a top creator. Girl do I feel everything you said.., I feel like I put myself in a tiny box with the name of my channel, and tbh I'm so over talking about it and want to talk about things like HD, Gene Keys, Passion & Purpose, Psychedelics, Quantum Physics, and other crazy rabbit hole topics... All my centers are defined, except for my G Center... so I feel like I have split personalities all over the place (my job either does or doesn't help with that because I've had countless stage names...) and I'm constantly wondering if I'm going in the right direction, if I'm in the right place, (where my dream partner is!...) and if I'm on the right track... This is happening way more than you think Amanda (people changing main focus of interest) and yes, this includes content creators as well. I believe this is way harder to digest, when you're a content creator though, or a solopreneur. I used to be super deep on WordPress themes and SEO since 2010, but for the last 2-3 years, it's just not in me, anymore. I fell in love with GTD, personal productivity, developing new habits, practicing stoicism, and it feels just WEIRD, to "convince" whatever was left of my audience, to my new interests. But hear me out on this, I didn't even know about human design before I found your channel and I did come here, because of the video training, but stayed for the Human Design content, isn't that weird... or interesting -better said-? 😉 I think a few others already said it, but I loved watching this video. Seeing you be so humble, and starting almost from a "panick-y state" of I'm overwhelmed AF with this... but hey, you guys are probably right, I should be working on what feels right to me, after all... I'd love to elaborate much more on this, but I can only type so much, but here's the tl;dr version of it: I've got a marketing friend from England, guy's well known for 15 years, made millions online, etc. He was doing business coaching at the end, and when his dad passed away, he went on a really bad rollercoaster, and changed directions entirely. He tried to shift over to self growth instead, dude went from making thousands effortlessly, to not selling anything at all in a heartbeat. He stayed the course, but nothing changed. He slowly started crawling back to online business coaching and now he's 100% back to it, but he's happy once again. The lesson of this (at least to me) is to at least TRY IT, but go both feet into it so you can REALLY feel what it's like, don't test the waters, just do it. If it flops, you can always resort back to the drawing board, but this time you won't be wondering, will KNOW from first hand experience, makes sense? Anyway, this is way too long already haha hope this message helps, but I truly believe you already know what to do, thank you for sharing this very important moment of your life, congratulations on your new motherhood, and I'm sure you'll do fantastic with whatever you choose! 🔥

As you already know, I think you are very effective at communicating your messages via video. A target audience that needs to get better at refining and communicating its messages via video is higher education, both from a promotional and instructional perspective. Is there a 'bridge' between what you do well and what higher education needs to do well?
It's always been apparent to me how much higher education uses video. Even from my days as a videographer, that was a very active customer. I think there's a lot of nuances to explore here. In some ways, I think it starts with the individual teacher getting to know themselves better - how do they best communicate? There's no blanket solution!
I have learned that there are two types of content creators: idea based creators and relationship based creators. You are definitely the latter. No matter what you talk about, I'm sure most people here want to hear from you, because it really seems like you care about this audience. Count me in to whatever comes next.

Please RUN 100 miles an hour in the new audience direction. I get the reason for concern but this space NEEDS your voice/ ability to break things down. Maybe consider making the videos you are called to make and sprinkling in a tech/video Tip here and there once a month or week or whenever the spark hits ya. I admit this next part is purely speculation but It feels right to believe that the audience space you are moving towards might include many of us that are already here with ya and I believe Many many many that do not vibe with the new message would still remain as subs and views because you are an interesting individual that has helped them grow. Soooo maybe more will stick around than those that leave. Plus you just might grow new subs and views faster than the rate of the fall off and not see too much of a lag financially.
