Hi, I am working on Sketch-up 2022. Trying to take a section. I am in Parallel Projection and it is still not working for me. When I'm in a Camera Poisson It said "On Face In Group" and not "From Point". What do you think I'm doing wrong?
On the 4.05 sec. How did you do that. If I click the position camera, it direct creates the scene, doesn't allow me to make the thing you made. Thanks for the video by the way.
Justin - Have learned a lot from you through all your videos, but I can't figure this one out (and you are not alone in showing color elevations). I am just finishing up my first set of construction plans and do not see an easy way to create USEFUL elevations. I created a 3D model of a split-level brick and siding remodel project. In Sketchup everything looks great for a color model with textures. However, for print elevations, the exterior needs hatch patterns for brick, siding and roof so it is not too dark when printed in black and white. I come across about 6-10 different sets of construction plans a month and I never see color elevations (near me they are 2x in cost). Regardless of cost, I could not find an easy way to show the simple hidden line view with hatch patterns for the brick, shingles and siding. I did manage to make 2 shells for the brick (one with texture and the other with a running bond hatch pattern) that I could turn on or off depending on the view. But I still have the really heavy black deck rails, roofing and all the details around the doors and windows that make the view too busy or unbalanced. Other than creating hidden line elevations and then tediously tracing around every door and window in Layout to create a fill area and hope nothing changes in the plans I don't see a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Thanks for the content you deliver, I work from an HP laptop and send to my employer who uses a Mac, There were times in the past that when he would print the PDF's that were exported from Layout that all the view ports would print black except actual model, though when I would print from HP all would be fine, a coworker who watched one of your videos suggested while in Layout select the viewport model go into Sketchup model>Views and making sure the Box that is labeled Back ground was checked, that has seemed to fix the issue I always use Hidden Line to create my scenes in Sketchup, My question is Why would the viewport print black except for model, We are mainly concerned that our clients will have this negative experience, so now while inserting viewports I have that box open and check Back ground each time, occasionally one slips by my eye, is there a better way? Again thanks for all your effort and time to create such help full content!

Working in 2022 version. The position camera tool doesn't work for creating Interior Elevations from my model. I've done exactly what you've done in your video but nothing is clipped out from behind the camera making the view useless. What am I doing wrong?

When labeling my floor plan in layout, the text hides behind. I have tried to bring the text to the front but it working. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
@@Thesketchupessentials TheSketchUpEssentials Thank you for your reply, but I meant, in SketchUp, I can show objects that are hidden behind other objects as dashed lines (in plans and elevations). And this shows in layout when in "raster" render mode, but it disappears in "vector". The viewport stacking trick is not working in this situation because I want to add dimensions based on these dashed lines, and in Raster it's nearly impossible to snap to the lines correctly. I hope I was able to make my point clear.
