This is a dream come true for me. I loved Project Spark on Xbox One and spent so many hours making games. Then it shut down. I tried Unreal 4 recently and it’s amazing but kind of overwhelming. This looks like it’s a blast to make a game. I’m going to be making stuff non-stop.
Thanks for the kind words Scribble! If you haven't already I suggest joining our discord server. It's a great learning resource (besides being full of very friendly folk). discord.com/invite/core-creators
Hey all! We're aware there are some parts of this video that are outdated. Thanks for your patience while we work to update it. :) Thank you to everyone who let us know!
Hello Core. I've asked this question on 3 of your post. HOW MUCH IS THE SOFWARE? And it's ignored. Are you guys a real company or just teasing us just because.
For anyone confused on some parts for the water, sometimes the post processing object will spawn lower than your water cube, simply move it upwards/downwards to the bounds of your water cube. Also in the water cube, under collision there is also a property called 'Camera collision' turn that to 'force off' as well.
I was just watching a RU-vidr and he talked about sponsor, (tbh i normally skip 😂 lol) but this sponsor was different and informative. Then i searched and boom, it's awesome! Probably it will take time but it's easy and helpful plus tutorials are really detailed which helps a lot.... Thanks
I looked into what LotusCracker stated and I found that(you need to align the position of your post processing effect with the position of your "Water Cube") to see the proximity of the the post processing effect, press the "V" key. Hope this helps some of you.
For those trying to make the water in 2021 I think I found a way to fix it. At least on my end. So just follow his steps and do everything then the Underwater Post Processing is just out of place so you just want to use the move tool and move it to the water block position.
Great tutorial! Thank you! Seems like there are some issues with copy and pasting the values from the cube. Doesnt match exactly for me. But it works after some little adjustements.
This was really cool. I learned a lot. Did anyone else have issues with this? It seems fiddly when I copied and pasted. I had to fool with raising the underwater post process volume. I can't seem to get it just right. I'm going to mess with it and a simple cube on another project. The Z direction needs to be higher and the volume needs to be larger then the water cube. Might be a bug, yes?
I’m struggling with the rain for some reason…. There’s no audio from it, all I hear are the PC’s foot steps. And when i resize it to fit over the entire terrain, the rain drops aren’t visible.
Hi! Im sorry - maybe someone can advice me - I creating rain - added RAin Volume VFX + Rain splash Volume VFX = I dont see the grid when try to change the size of these elements ( the grid is on this lesson) - and I cant hear rain sound ((( Rain is work - but no sound WHAT I DID WRONG??
Hello ! Great tutrorial) Can you help with creating character with weapon and how to do something with weapon (for example zoom) . Please make a video with it.I`m loking forward to it. Thanks a lot )))
i finally have a acer Gaming Laptop (3050TI) and it can run this smoothly as heck! and im trying to grt used to the editor its like UE4 (cuz its based off of that) i love it i like the games but i wish (recommendations) adding Dirt Bikes, gear and finsh lines and air planes??) (but overall i love it!!!! good work a d keep it up)
It would be nice if we could make a standalone game with Core Game Engine. The best thing to do is, if a game developer wants to make money with his/her game, they should purchase a commercial license. People who just use this engine for making a free indie game should get a splash screen when the game boots up, like 'Made with love by Core Games'.
No promises for stand alone games, but the "Made with Love by Core Games" idea is awesome! 😁 Also, we do have a creator payout program if you're interested: medium.com/core-games/launching-cores-creator-economy-1-million-is-just-the-start-6a116a78c06
Between the 1st and 3rd part of the video, we can see the player footsteps when he walks on the water (with collision). What did I miss? When I drag and drop the water material, I don't have those effects. Same for the splash effect with sound when I jump in the water.
yeah the under water post process dosn't work at all and when you try to move the camera to get a better view it moves the posty process aswell so it just makes it hard to use for no reason. aopy and paste does nothing.
This is my story about how I want to make a game on core I was 8 years old and I loved games but I didn’t know what job to have so I decided to become a programmer like my brother then I stumbled to a vid that sponsored Core so I knew this is what I should use I wanted to make a game without anyone knowing then I surprise them I got so happy 😀 btw I am 8 years old and I’m learning python
you should also try roblox, it's similiar, but as a roblox and core player. core is easier for beginners and roblox is better for more experienced people
Can you include some patch notes whenever you update the core client ? The client is kinda hungry in term of resources. And also why don't you seperate the studio of making the games from where we can find the games and everything else ?
Check out QWeather System by Quailar on Community Content! Just drag and drop into your Hierarchy and instant Day/Night Cycle with weather. And you can modify it for your own purposes. :)
@Dane Felde I fout my problem. The copy dimension part did not go like it did in the video. I had a cave inside the lake. That was the only place my swimming effect would work. After adjusting the post water volume by hand to match the size of my water block everything worked fine.
I am completely unable to get any water effects to work properly, which is very discouraging. I have followed every step, step by step, multiple times. At first I thought there was an issue with my map file, so i deleted it and created a new map from scratch, after that I couldn't get it to work on a map I made using this tutrial, I did everything exactly like you've shown but am unable to get the water to function as water, and I'm unable to get the masks to work in order to add a damp effect around the water's edge. I really hope I'm able to figure this out soon, my concepts are going nowhere and my progress is halted until I can get these things down.
Same, but I don't have problems with adding damp effect around the water's edge tho. But i just can't get te water function on the water cube properly.... Do you already have a solution for this problem after 4 months? If you do pls tell me how to do!
Let's say I wanted to make a multi player shooter with a ranking system and much more would that be possible to have for example a cube that would glow depending on how long the player remains in a location and alert their location
Yes definitely. We have a lot of shooter frameworks to help you get started. Frameworks are games already set up with scripts and a basic map that you can easily edit and modify without knowing lua Go to the Create tab in the editor and select Frameworks.
@@CoreGamesOfficial I have one more question in a free for all can I create a location that results in winning for example a room that if you he player enters during the free for all shooting game that they will win or be one of the winners sense I will have multiple rooms
Hey, so I biuld this step by step but once I put in the underwater post process it had n orange square outlining it and nothing i did would make it go alway. Can anyone give me a little advice
Hi, here are the minimum recommended specs for Core: CPU: Intel Core i5-7400 or AMD equivalent RAM: 8 GB GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 1050Ti or better or AMD equivalent OS: Windows 10 64-bit
@@Justvibes80 Here's a video with two dragons in it (timestamped to show off the big guy at the end): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CtGUQMEijes.html There's also an animated dragon mesh you can use if you don't want to model your own.
Do you mean networking messages, or gameplay tied to real-world clock? You can do both in Core. Here's a link to the example page about network events: docs.coregames.com/api/examples/#events and for real-world clock there's a Community Content piece called "Long Term Timers".
Maybe im late but... try to make your underwater cube higher, in my case it was so flat then when i tried to swim the box for swimming wasn't enough deep
