You don’t get good extra points for anything past twelve so a good strategy is to place 12and then start a different biome next to it so you have as many twelve tile biomes as possible. Also hold out for that three of a kind for the animals as the points are worth it. If you are playing the medium game there will be a high pint place for a 17 tile river which is something you need to plan ahead for. This game is super addictive too

Not sure if you realised this from the puzzle mode, but in the first mode, you actually want to try aiming for 3 unique animals, that gets you 60 points. 3 of a kind only gets you 30.
