Yoo, instead of slowly scrolling up to select photos, you can start selection and then while holding finger on last selected photo, tap upper part of the screen (for instant scroll up action in ios), it'll get you up along with selecting all the photos
Hi Denis, can you explain this method again, I tried to follow it but didn’t get how to do it. Start selection, while holding finger on the last selection… tap upper part of the screen (this is the part I lost you).
Holy Lord this is exactly what I’ve been searching for so long man. I can’t believe that someone has finally released it for our iPhones. I have bought it and can’t wait to be able to use it. Many greetings from Germany Shane and thanks for this.
So at 1:30 point of your video I headed over to the link to purchase! Yay! Shame I couldn’t use Apple Pay because I missed the rest of your video purchasing through PayPal. But it is done! Now we wait…
Very new to your channel and just wanna say wow! I absolutely love you work and love for photography and what you do, thank you and I'm so excited to give all this a try!! 💕
Very neat. I think I need to pick one up as been trying to do this for a bit now. As far as I can tell you can make a shortcut with iOS shortcuts to make a quasi intervalometer but it won’t work taking night mode photos.
Hi Shayne, big fan of your work and this channel. This seems like an amazing product, so much so that i ordered one even before the video was over c",) That's a first for me. Usually i debate alot if i NEED an item or if i just WANT to need it :) Not this time! This looks like a no brainer :) Thank you Shayne and Dale
You can do it on Pixel too mate There is an app that will do it. The Intervalometer app. I have done videos in the past. The issue will be stacking to make a movie. There is no simple way with Android that I can think of.
Is it easy to find dark skies without light pollution in Oz? I have to drive for hours in the UK to get anywhere remotely good, then there's a very high chance of just seeing full cloud cover. I would love to be able to take shots like this, nice work.
Crazy that it’s taken this long for someone to create an intervalometer for the iPhone, even though it’s something that should already be on it; I mean god it would be so much more useful than the stupid shutter button on the 16! BTW could you do the same stacking on Astro Shader too?
I know right! Its bloody nuts that this isnt in the camera app! Shutter button? I turned that off within 2 days. Astro shader will do this, but nowhere near as good as this. Its more for 100% sky images.
Nice product, so when do you think Apple will include that type of functionality in the iPhones like Samsung has with their Hyperlapse mode that is already on theirs? I’m been having a blast with my S23 Ultra.
I doubt they will. The hyperlapse on the Samsung is great, but not the same. This can be done with the intervalometer app on the androids though. But the stacking into a video is harder to do.
Interesting device, too bad it's not available for Android 😢 I wanted to ask if you are aware of the possibility of astrophography with Vivo x200 pro, thanks.
Thanks Shayne. I’ve just purchased both the Lumilapse and the Star Tracker app. I want to see if the app can make a timelapse out of the 900 plus daytime photos I’ve taken of Mt Taranaki from my truck everyday of my freight run (not exactly the same spot everyday but close so not expecting miracles🙂).
@@ShayneMostyn it does work but my photos were taken out of my truck windscreen so they don’t exactly line up to stack properly. Maybe I need to fix a camera somewhere and make sure the settings don’t change for another 954 days to get back to where I am now ha ha!
Yes, pixel phones shoot at 4.16 minutes. You also dont need one for the Pixel There is an app that will do it. The Intervalometer app. I have done videos in the past. The issue will be stacking to make a movie. There is no simple way with Android that I can think of.
Aren't there apps for the iPhone that do the same sort of thing? Taking a photo every so many seconds I mean? I may be wrong but could have sworn I'd come across some not long ago?
Nope, well not like this. There are intervalometers on some photog apps, but only 1-2 seconds. Even Longer did it a while ago to 30 seconds, but the quality is not quite there with the end resulting images. Has to do with what Apple lets the developers have access to in the camera.
@@ShayneMostyn I've just looked in the App Store and there are a few in there that allow long times. One even goes longer than 30 seconds. Admittedly that one doesn't go into night mode so no idea what the results would be like but I've seen a few in there which definitely go up to 30 seconds. Might be some apps are only available in some territories as I know I had an app on my iPhone 12 Pro Max which when I updated to the iPhone 16 Pro Max last week it wouldn't download as said it was only in the US now 🙁 Oh and I did post on your video about the problems you've been having about the photos and the weird blue blotches so you may have seen it already but no problems here with this phone on any lens. All come out perfectly black. I think they'll need to take every hundredth phone or something off the line as soon as it's made and then send them to different parts of the world as I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the supply chain? Scanning them or something like that. Hopefully if they've got your phone back though they'll be able to figure out what's going on with them though.
No, but you dont need this with android. There is an app that will do it. The Intervalometer app. I have done videos in the past. The issue will be stacking to make a movie. There is no simple way with Android that I can think of.
@ShayneMostyn What is the equivalent solution on Samsung device, and which app is suggested for stacking and time lapse?? Don't forget about your family who don't use iPhone 😅
Did you ask this in the FB group? All camera devs are restricted in the shutter speed access to the camera. They are restricted to 1-2 seconds. Even Longer does a reasonable job, but its restricted like all camera apps. Using this takes advantage of the full 30 secs (3x10seconds) shots with the camera app. Results are far superior.
@@ShayneMostyn yes I did, waiting for feedback , even longer allows you to keep the shutter open for 1 second to hours and use the built in intra . FA or. Under night mode .I learn that from you. That’s why I am curious on this new device thank you
You would think so, but no. No app can do this on the iPhone. There are some photo apps that have intervalometers, but not nearly as good quality as a 30sec camera pic.
Agreed. I've used an app called Skyflow for years that can do intervals for long exposures of the duration you specify and different modes of capture (motion blur, light trails, low light, etc). So maybe I'm missing something... and I'm definitely supportive of people creating clever solutions... but I'm not seeing how this is better than an app-based solution.
Apple doesnt give the devs access to shooting longer than 1-2 seconds, then the devs stack those smaller images to create longer ones. No app can take images as clear as the native app. So this uses the native app to capture many high quality images.
Im going to need to shoot a comparison video. Ive also used skyflow, its a great app. The results from this are far superior. There isnt an app solution for this because of the restrictions apple puts on devs around the camera.
@@ShayneMostyn That's a completely fair point and one that I hadn't recalled until you mentioned it - thanks for bringing that up! I definitely think that an app comparison would be interesting - at least with Skyflow if not some of the others. I liked the control I have over the different modes from the third party LE apps, as sometimes the native camera apps night mode makes some processing decisions I'd rather not have, but the advantage you're talking about is critical. I have only been using an iPhone 11 Pro Max for my photography until now, and just upgraded to the 16 Pro (luckily tested it and it doesn't have the unfortunate issue yours did), so I'm looking forward to doing more with Night mode and LE shots with ProRAW and 48 MP among other options. I tried AstroShader (thanks to your channel) on my 11 Pro Max and it crashes with anything more than about 30-50 exposures. Also looking forward to working with Star Stacker as well. Cheers for all the tips and advice on your channel.
Pixel always had awesome short timelapse with Astrophotography, yet wish they finally would give it longer option. At the same time, can shoot incredible timelapse video with MotionCam Pro in DNG or RAW video.
yep, it is bonkers what is possible with MotionCam on a phone. You can record even better footage than iPhones LOG, which looks like proper camera footage.
The Pixel can do this with the camera app astro mode There is an app that will do it. The Intervalometer app. I have done videos in the past. The issue will be stacking to make a movie. There is no simple way with Android that I can think of.
iphones suck everyone just needs to come to grip with that fact... why not use this with a Samsung? oh probly cause it wouldn't change as much... lol but for real though... like this isnt the iphone camera this is a seperate piece of hardware... so buy a shitty phone plus this. just saying... if you wanted to capture this you would already have a nice camera not using a iphone, sorry.
I don’t think you’ve quite understood what this is actually for 😂 it has nothing to do with the pictures taken or image processing. The pictures would be the same regardless of whether you used this device or not. It just automatically takes a picture rather than you having to stand there and do it manually. You can dislike iPhones all you like but it makes literally no sense in this case.
