In this video, I will show you how to create Logical, Relational and Physical Model using Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler with ER diagram as input. I will also show you how to create sub/super-types .
thanks a lot for this video I have a test tomorrow from this and it really helped. I can just suggest to continue with this series and add that transaction relation which you didn't as well as you could show how to add records or write into DDL script how to add or delete attributes or even records.. :)
I have more than 100 tables so how to select all entities and resize it in logical data model? And is thr any option to split the pages like 1, 2, 3 etc.
Hii, I think when you are choosing the "optional" for source and target sides for building relationship. you chose it wrongly, should be opposite based on your assumption( for example the relationship between customer and account). Just a kind reminder. Correct me if i'm wrong :)
Thank you so much for making this video, this is very clear and easy to understand. I'm new to oracle sql developer data modeler tool - I have one clarification here - When I create subtype and supertype as shown in this video in the logical model, after selecting the accounts as supertype I'm not getting that line between accounts and checking_account. Also between accounts and savings_account. I'm using oracle data modeler v21.4. Instead of line, I could see the checking_account entity and savings_account entity inside accounts entity in the logical model. Is this normal in this version? please advise. When I converted logical model to physical, I could see subtype and supertype as shown in the this video without any issues.
Okay..I found the resolution - In the logical model, by going to notation unchecked "Box in box presentation", by doing that I could see the line between subtype and supertype entity
Thank you, Very helpful, I have a a question please, when i try to get the relational model of a many to many relationship (Engineer to relational model)like a course-student relationship in your video, SQL Developer doesn't delete the original relationship like in your video, it keeps the many to may relationship and create the intersection table ?! I am using SQL Developer4.1.3.20,
I have one question - In the same data model file if I want to create multiple relational model by reusing the existing tables, is that possible to create separate workspace for each relational model ? Please advise
