As a palace fan I love Gallagher on loan with us that season. Was a brilliant player. He’s got shown up at Chelsea, I know they have issues etc etc but he’s not a world class CM he’s mid table standard let’s be honest 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t dispute he has potential but nah not a “top 6” he can come back and join us though I’d love that!!😅😂

reev is somewhat right that Akanji played left back all last season - where gvardiol now plays but if he wants him inverted from left back he would have to have Dias or vvd in the gvardiol role quite wide left which just wouldn’t work. he should have picked akanji cb then gvardiol or someone similar lb if he wanted to do all that but would’ve been better picking chilwell estupinan or shaw probably.

Since they are not going the same position at a time it doesn't really matter much that they are not alternating starts in the draft (they are not choosing all 3 the GK first for example). And they are right, it sounds better like this in the podcast.

Akanji doesn’t play left back 💀 he doesn’t start left back either. He starts centre back and steps into midfield. Same as stones when he plays centre back. STARTS CB STEPS INTO MIDFIELD

The whole debate of Trent wouldn't do it starting in midfield is stupid, If a team plays 352/343 then they have an extra man. You don't say they are only good because they overrun the midfield. It's up to the opposition to adjust and defend it.
