My Great Granduncle fought in Verdun in 1916 but was killed by an artillery shell in 1917 during the 2nd battle of the Aisne fighting for the French Army. He was a Private Second Class of the 99th Infantry Regiment.

does the french webbing have a pattern/design name?

I'm not sure what you are asking - french webbing? Help me out so I can answer your question - and thanks for watching!

webbing is made from the straps, belt and ammunition pouches etc. normally it has a name. the british equivalent in WWI was called the 1908 pattern webbing. i wondered whether you know what the straps, belt and ammunition pouches are called for the french. also what a great way to make sandbags to scale i have never thought of making a mold to do it. also great video.

WWIIUK Okay, I now know what you are asking - the French did not use webbing, they used leather. The Y brace system is the M1892 pattern with the M1905 cartridge pouches (3 total), you also see the M1888 bayonet frog, M1892 haversack, and the 1-liter M1877 water bottle. Hope this helps!!
