Join award winning photographer Jason Lanier for an impromptu photo shoot in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Prague!

In this video Jason and his assistant Emily started filming a planned RU-vid video in the summer time in Prague, when all of the sudden a truck came by and started spraying mist on the town square providing relief from the heat for all the public there sightseeing.
Jason and Emily scrapped the plans for their planned shoot, went down to the mist and started shooting. This was a completely natural light shoot with no diffusion and no lighting, just a camera, a lens, and the resulting images.

Jason and Emily, it looks like you had a great time and came away with yet more excellent shots! I love you both, but darn it, now I have to add going back to Prague, Budapest, and other locations in eastern Europe to my bucket list! Jason, I have you to thank for that short talk with my son. Nice work Jason, that was a cool opportunity. I had a very simple example of this impromptu photo opportunity at home recently; the evening sun was streaming through my lounge window hitting a piece of heart wall art. I was not going to bother getting my camera out, but so glad I did as the images came out great. We all have to take the most of what opportunities we come across and having the instinct to realise the potential in a situation.

Great video again. I usually just focus on the Model and then totally blank out the public without being ignorant of course. Got to love the many who just walk through the shoot haha but that is also a learning curve.... don't become upset and instead use the interaction to create people liking you, never hurts to make friends. Shame about that vintage car not in a shoot!.... Photobombed many times!!!!

i would like to see a video on how you edit stuff in lightroom/photoshop or any other software and what you do or like to do editing wise .....i see alot of ur videos are photoshoots but not seen much of the post edting stuff ...and u can take great photos but some editing is needed and i would love to see that side too ////thanks and keep up the great content

These videos are always so confusing. How is the whole body so sharp at F1.4. Like when she sitting on the ground not even the foot close to the lens is out of focus which seems impossible at F1.4.

The 4:21 shot looks about half-model height. At 85mm f1.4 for a tight half-shot on a 5'7" model, the distance would be about 8.13 ft. This amounts to about 2.6in total DoF. It is likely that he was standing farther back and then cropped to what you are seeing. Moving back to about 16 ft results in about 10 inches of DoF which should be enough. Note that the tip of the shoe is soft and out of focus. If you look at the shot at 4:37, it looks like the same location, but uncropped and shot at the same distance, etc.

Now that I think about it more the only way I could think this could work is if you are far away so the depth of field is not so small, but with this lens you wouldn't be able to fill the frame. Are you cropping down? This is killing me to find out how it is done.

"Essence of photography" I like what you said. Taking tons of georgous shoots of beautifull models becomes bit boring. A tip: If you are planning to come more to south, recommend you less clothes and a straw hat. Have a nice trip across the EU.

I love it. Spontaneity is the idea here. However, I have a suggestion. In order to enhance or just bring out the spontaneous aspect of it all, why not just let the model move about freely, and take shots of her ?

Great looking photo features on that assistant Jason........Hope you don't screw this up as usual.......You see what one night with alcohol and assholes can accomplish with body scribbling and how bad it can mess up an inviting body that just irks to be photographed...What a waste of great skin.....smile......
