If you encounter an error when importing the txt file into solidworks, you are missing a column for the z coordinates. The z coordinate column should be all zeros. Hope this helps.
Also additional: Save it as name.csv Then open windows explorer find that name.csv file and rename it as name.csv.txt Don't ask me why. I find it the hard way
Go back to the .txt file and press tab before the 0 in the z coordinate. Every 0 in the z coordinate, press tab so that it will move to the right making some space from the y coordinate. Save it and it should now work.
