A while back I came up with a larger Legion of Doom concept based around the idea of Lex deciding that the Justice League and other heroes are getting too busy dealing with the problems of other planets, other dimensions, and even other universes, and that someone needed to look out for Earth's interests: Lex Luthor (leader and founder) The Joker (never uninvite the Joker) Ocean Master (representing Atlantis) Black Adam (representing Kahndaq) Gorilla Grodd (representing apes and Gorilla City) Penguin (representing the criminal underworld) Captain Cold (representing blue-collar criminals and the working class) Ra's Al Ghul (representing the League of Assassins) Deathstroke (representing mercenary interests) Poison Ivy (representing the Green and environmental interests) Each of these members also have their own secondary representatives, often doubling as bodyguards or partners in the event of a double-cross by the other members, such as Black Manta being hired by Ocean Master, the Rogues backing up Captain Cold, and Lex being guarded by Mercy Graves.
I'd also add the Cheetah, both because she's Wonder Woman's nemesis, but also because she represents the Red and the interest of Earth's animals. She'd also be useful when it comes to archeological matters. Also, I love the idea of Lex forming the Legion as a way to protect Earth while the heroes are away, possibly even telling Supes that "While you and your little club are away across the galaxy, someone needs to stay and hold the fort down. After All, you or your little friends can't come home, if there's no home for you to return to."
@@nicholaswarren7636 I spent ages trying to figure out how to include Cheetah, with my initial idea being to have Circe as the big higher-up magic representative and Cheetah as the secondary archaeology and combat-focused one, but it never felt quite right... now representative of the Red, that is interesting.
@@captaincomic8678 That's also a good idea. While Cheetah represents the Red, Circe could also be a member, representing the realms of Magic such as the gods and stuff.
Honestly, Lex, Deathstroke, and Mirror Master alone would be a really tough trio. They don’t have much in terms of raw power, but between Lex’s long term tactical abilities, Deathstroke’s skill and short term tactics, and the protection and easy transportation Mirror Master would give them, they could do some serious damage as a strike force.
Deathstroke ain't loyal he would never work in a team, he'd betray them for a higher bid or he'd leave them high and dry if it benefits him or if he thinks he's going to lose.
I feel like one good villain to have against Martin Manhunter could be Scarecrow. Scarecrow's fear toxins could be his equivalent to Martin Manhunter's telepathy.
Scarecrow is the perfect support member of the Legion because you can easily throw him against Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, or even Green Arrow and Black Canary like in the Justice series.

On one hand, Shade is one of my favorite DC characters. Seeing him mentioned anywhere makes me happy. On the other hand, Shade hasn't been a real villain for almost a decade and a half. He's been an antihero since the 90s, and he has strayed more towards full heroism post Blackest Night and New 52, especially when he got his own solo. As of his last major appearance in Flash and Hawkman's books in Rebirth, he's basically a full hero. Even if you disregard that, his characterization post Zero Hour doesn't really befit him being on the Legion of Doom. He wouldn't really care about any of what Lex has planned, he's rich enough to have some level of ethics in what job he takes, and he isn't as much of a sadist as Joker to just be on the team for fun. Shade would only work on the team in two scenarios. 1. He's playing as a double agent because, if we're making him Zatanna's foe which I actually really like, he cares about her how an uncle would and is playing the role of villain so they wouldn't get someone like Felix Faust or Klarion to do it and actually hurt her. 2. He's under control of someone like Doctor Destiny or Grodd, and it's Zatanna's job to save him. Otherwise, I really like the lineup. And honestly just making up those scenarios really make me like the idea of Shade being on the Legion, just not in the capacity you suggested.
This is why I don’t like when Zatanna is on the Justice League roster till much later. Cause when it’s just a roster where it’s this person vs that person it’s very hard to find someone who can both match her in power or at least keep her distracted long enough for the others to gang up and someone who wouldn’t betray Lex.
Really great LOD roster👍 One thing about the Legion of Doom I love is that they should be a dark reflection of the Justice League as the antithesis of what they stand for, and as such, I feel that the Legion of Doom should have as much of an interesting dynamic together as much as the Justice League have with each other and I think having a diverse roster of villains with different dynamics, relationships, personalities and perspectives is key and should always be considered when picking members of the LOD and how said members have different rivalry and animocity towards their respective heroes on the Justice League.

I like the idea that joker not being a member of the legion of doom but he just comes along with them like with batman not being a member for the justice league but comes along with them in season 1 of justice league the animated series.

I personally really think the Joker deserves to be on the team primarily because of what happens when he isn’t on the team. If you remember Infinite Crisis, Alexander Luthor’s final mistake was not inviting the Joker to “play,” and in the end he killed Alexander while the real Lex watched. I feel like Earth One Lex would be too smart to not let the Joker in just because of the possible consequences involved with not letting him join. I also just really love Lex and Joker’s DCAU chemistry and would love to see that replicated lol
I heavily agree with your choices, but I would replace Dr. Destiny with Martian Manhunters brother Ma’alefa’ak for the more personal aspect and because I really liked how he was used in the Justice League Doom movie

I really enjoyed this video. But me, myself, I would add Eclipso, Metallo, Captain Cold who I believe would be the number one villain for the Flash. As well as the Reverse Flash. I do like the original Legion of Doom from the 1978 series of the Challenge of the Super Friends. I like the Toyman. The Riddler, Scarecrow. Bizarro. Bizarro being a goofy version of Superman. I think Cyborg Superman would make a great member of the Legion of Doom. But that just some characters that I would like to see to become members of the Legion of Doom.
Personally, I'd replace Sinestro with Carol Ferris / Star Sapphire. Either as the evil Silver Age version or the more sympathetic modern (hypothetically brainwashed or blackmailed) one, I think having Carol in the team may force Hal Jordan to hold back in his attacks. This worked in the Justice League: Doom animated movie. Similarly, I'd replace Shade with Psycho-Pirate as Zatanna's enemy. Psycho-Pirate's emotion-inducing powers can benefit the Lantern in the Legion of Doom (e.g. fear for Sinestro or love for Star Sapphire). It also helps that Psycho-Pirate, like Shade, is a Golden Age villain, having been a recurring foe for Doctor Fate. Meanwhile, Zatanna's father Giovanni Zatara is also a Golden Age hero. I also think there could be a fun back-and-forth between Doctor Destiny and Psycho-Pirate, since both have powers rooted in magic. I'd also keep Bane over Deathstroke. I see Bane as a more practical villain, who wouldn't engage in a power play against Lex unless there's something that he would really gain from it. Plus, I think he's the type of guy who would negotiate with Lex for better deals (e.g. more resources for his criminal empire, in exchange for more manpower to Lex etc.). As such, I think he could serve as a field leader while Lex works behind-the-scenes.

I looooved when they had the Legion of Doom episodes on Saturday morning cartoons. Especially when they were 2 or 3 part episodes. They were always the best story lines, even if we know they were going to lose, but they always escaped and were ready to fight another day.
Luthor has a place in thee Legion of Doom, since other villains see him DARING to fight Superman and say, "Damn, if he can step up against Superman, maybe we can, as well!" and thus cooperate with his whims. The Justice League is Superman's pet project, the Legion of Doom is Luthor's own pet project.

@Mr.ThemeSongs Pentious isn't even really evil, though. He'd be on the team for like one mission, realize these guys are way more villainous than him, and bail. Sir Pentious is straight up too good of a person to be on the Legion. Also, Lex wouldn't bring Pentious on because he's an idiot. If he needed an inventor with diminutive minions, he'd get Toyman.
