As a GenXer, I've been thrifting since the 90s. But I just find local charities running a thrift store, I don't buy expensive "thrift" online. Maybe I won't find designer clothes there, but I don't need designer clothes. Shop local. Support your local charities. Find cool stuff for not much money. Give still great furniture and clothes new homes and new lives. Added benefit, when you shop in person, you can often try on before you purchase, so you know it fits.
See this was also my thought… I was disappointed to see she was using poshmark. I just read a really great article the other day about the gentrification of thrifting. Because people thrifting and then upselling it makes thrift stores up their prices in order to stay relevant, it makes them less accessible to low income families which is who they were originally intended for. I hate seeing how people have made thrifting into something trendy.
