This livestream is a musical showcase celebrating the culmination of a 3-month creative mentorship program I offer, called Creative Electroacoustic Immersion Program (CEIP).
The showcase will feature new music by:
Oliver Delano (USA) Instagram: @oliver_e_delano
Ipek Eginli (Turkey) Instagram: @ipekeginli
Bruce Reinoso (USA) Instagram: @UrsaBorealis
SYNMAN (South Africa)
Albert Yeh (USA) Instagram: @albertyehmusic
Interview / Q+A hosted by Sarah Belle Reid.
Each artist will share a short excerpt of their work, and provide a glimpse behind the “creative curtain”-sharing insight into their process, tools, and workflow. This is a really exciting opportunity to not only hear music that is living & evolving in real time, but also to learn about how it was created, from the artists themselves.
More about CEIP:
The Creative Electroacoustic Immersion Program is an intimate 3-month mentorship experience for musicians who want to unlock their unique musical voice and clarify their creative process so that they can make (and finish!) more music they love. I’m so glad you taped this for those of us who could not make the live show. So exciting to watch on this March- like south coastal New England evening with the cat before the hearth.

It was absolutely an amazing experience to watch this livestream. So fantastic that we all got to hear the group piece for the first time along with its creators! Such a brilliant idea and my new favourite show on RU-vid! Really very exciting as an audience member, thanks everyone involved and especially Sarah. Looking forward to the next episode ❤

Can I ask a serious question? I too play modular as well as non-modular synths… classically trained pianist / guitarist… just for background… my question has to do with song structure…on the FIRST TWO PERFORMANCES: I enjoy listening to the sounds that are being created, and I have no doubt these sounds are incredibly fun to play while experimenting… but I always find myself having a difficult time explaining to non-synth musicians how these sounds are considered “songs” or pieces of “music.” A few have some musicality to them in places, but even I am having a difficult time defining the “song” structure or “musical composition” of these pieces. I suppose there are rhythmic elements here and there, but mostly they seem to be a loose collection of sounds… and again, I find that interesting, but in less of a musical focus and more of a scientific experiment on sound type focus. I promise this is not a hate post as I do find the pieces interesting… but the first two in particular, I had trouble discerning any actual rhythmic patterns, time signature, key, etc… so what would be the best way to explain to someone how this fits into the construct of “music” as most would define it (again, rhythm, tempo, pitch/key, generally easily definable)? Starting with the third piece there is clear musicality to the piece … and it’s easy to define it as a song or music. I know I’m not explaining this great, and my intent is not to mock the first two compositions… I’m trying to learn what I’m missing that others are hearing as they seemed to love it… and from a pure sound experience, I enjoyed it as well… so perhaps I’m being rigid in my own definitions of “music” which is entirely possible as well.
