Its smart!!!The game has that part so that people can play in groups. You take 4 ppl destroy gym and keep an extra person to tap the gym and place pokemon fast. Plus if its one person playing then you can annoy him for hours .thats actually great because if a person sees that his gym is being attacked then he might get the time to reach there and put his own pokemon there when its neutral. So its not cheating but neither is it an asshole move Its Perfect
Not gonna lie I did that once but it doesn't really work since the dude who actually fought the gym will be able to easily take the gym back off you if you have weak Pokemon (I placed a 200cp hypno at the gym I stole). And people who steal gyms tend to only steal gyms because they have weak Pokemon and can't take over gyms the proper way (well that was my case). And your defeated Pokemon ends up having to be revived.
when i beat a gym i leave it open so dumb asses can assign a pokemon that i will beat again right away. thanks for the XP losers. you gained nothing from doing that.
I've done it to mess with friends, but I always put in super weak ones so that they can immediately get it back with little to no damage taken to their pokemon. So, to everyone reading, if you're going to do it, put in weak things, collect the coins or tease your friends (Idk your angle), and just let them take it back with ease and grace. It can be a funny prank, but it is really cruel when you put in a CP level 2000 Arcanine. Try a CP 10 Magikarp instead, and say hi to whoever actually beat the gym after. Make a friend and be a trickster, not an asshole.
The Eevee naming to get specific Eeeveelutions was INTENTIONAL, as the method only works once for each Eeveelution. So it's not a cheat, it's an Easter Egg for people who pay attention in the anime and other Pokémon games.
Yes. Plus, Pokemon go tracks by sattlight, and it tracks your movement. If you tape it onto a fan nothing will happen. I tried and it does not work. Plus the eeveelition thing is a trick not cheat!

While I hate it when people cheat at easy and simple games like this- I can understand why a select few would do it. Bad reception, can't afford unlimited data, don't have enough time to walk 10 kilometers every other day, nearest pokestop or gym is miles away (was one of my internet friend's problem.) Shoot, my close friend really enjoys Pokemon, been around all his life actually- but he has a bad body due to a car accident when he was a kid. Makes it hard for him to be active and get up there

gym stealing is also not a cheat. it's just part of gaming strategy! and sadly only one of few things which requires some brain usage in the whole game. what a shame!
Don't get me wrong i completely agree with you, although he said cheaters suck and they ruin the game for other people, he was talking in general. in this case with pokemon it doesnt matter at all
Every cheater is different Some do it to screw with people (Multiplayer.) Some do it to make the game significantly easier (usually Singleplayer..but it's also used in Multiplayer) And just do it to get a little more fun from the game in question (like me C:) I don't have PG but it's a semi-Multiplayer game so either way cheating can push you back in this game (or entirely end your progress ;-;)
honestly. I have never played that game and do not plan on it. cheaters where I am from(Xbox360) are known as modders and it is expensive. but I am managing to take care of it. but I only MOD for the sake of others. money drops in Gta V . free unlock all's in Bo2. it's all fun and games. but u have to know there are others out there with nothing overpowering but talk a lot of crap. which mostly with a modder. something is done about that.
Tip for a good way of hatching eggs without walking! Get defeated by pikachu and fly away like team rocket while Pokémon go is on! Hope this was use full 🙂
Ugh, one time that happened to me.... Oh the people who did that, i want to CHOKE them... Lordy, you know why people are so bothered? Because you spend YOUR TIME, YOUR ITEMS, and standing around in the hot sun depending on your area, finishing a gym, and as you heal your pokemon its just taken away from you from someone who did nothing other then mooch off of your work..

I have a buddy that resorted to cheating to surpass me. He got soft banned so many times its ridiculous. He quit playing so much after he got far ahead of me, and he was my ride to go play. All he had to do to really catch up with me was get coins for lucky eggs and use them like a smart player would. I told him how to, then later he tells me like he thought of it. Idk why i hang out with him XD

I used a bot up to lvl 10, but then I got banned. Of course, I was fine with that... until one of my friends who used a bot to lvl 35 started getting every gym in town and bragging to everyone(even in front of me) about how good he is at the game(forgetting to mention that he's cheating). That fucker never even knew about Pokemon before the app came out and now he's acting like a Pokemon nerd to impress people. I reported his ass though and he eventually got banned. Before you call me a dick though, you should know that he does the same with League of Legends(didn't report him there), even though I took him from bronze 2 to Plat 1(impossible to get him any higher), while he always feeds his ass off when he plays without me. Anyone else have a friend like that? Someone who's usually great, but turns into an lying asshole to appeal to others? And does it also make you mad how he/she is confidently lying in front of you, even though you know the truth?
EdgeOfLight It was a Trainer Club account and right after the ban, I just loged in and started playing on my other account. Haven't had any problems with it, playing on the same phone/network.
using "pets, drones, fans, cd spinners, etc. technically isn't cheating since its not using gps hacks because the phone is actually moving and the game has no way of recognizing youre cheating this way
But most people who did the Rainer/Vaporeon, Sparky/Jolteon, Pyro/Flareon it worked and only became a chance after you have used these method obtaining the 3 different evolutions

None of those egg hatching tactics work and here's why. The game doesn't factor in turning when hatching eggs. It only factors in straight lines of distance, meaning you can't attach it to a ceiling fan or hold your phone and spin around in circles to hatch eggs. You have to actually be progressively moving in one direction and going less than 18mph approximately.
I think he just means you live in a small city. He said it in a douchey way of course as this is youtube, but still comparing a small city with a major one is a very different experience. There's at least 6 gyms I can view from my house and all of them change hands multiple times a day. Between like 5 and midnight they probably change once or twice every hour.
The eevveelution is not a cheat or bending the rules. Its an easter egg. Also, it's like saying if you throw a pokeball and catch a Pokémon that's cheating.
False equivalence. It's more akin to saying god mode in older games isn't cheating because the devs intentionally put it into the game. Eevee's evolution is intended to be a random outcome between the 3. Albeit an intended easter egg, you still break the rules of the game's intended function by using it.
+Legomaster88888 It's not even cheating the system in the first place. Renaming pokemon was purposely implemented by the developers and riding a bike isn't cheating anything. You're doing more work for more efficiency when riding a bike instead of walking.
Um a turntable wouldn't work because it doesn't measure by steps, it measures by distance. The distance counter, being GPS, would not notice the small movement of a turntable.
Personally the gym should be on lockdown for a minimum of 5 minutes after its defeated. Lockdown means only the last person to attack the gym can take it.
Is it okay if i put low level Pokemon in there and you guys can take it back it want the defender bonus im a low level so i need it and i cant win gyms yet.
+Mew Ace You can place a pokemon in there aswell if someone on your team claims it, unless multiple people swooped in (but you can just level up the gym for more slots so it should be fine)
You DESERVE to have your phone ruined if you put it in a microwave and expect it to do anything but come out completely fucked up. I don't normally victim blame, but this is absolutely an instance where it is fitting.
Gym stealers are the scum of the earth. I spent an hour and a half taking down a gym and someone took it twice before I could heal my Laprus and sit upon my throne.
Here is what I do.... I have an equal pokemon I do not use in the battle that way it is ready to place so I do not have to heal my injured one until I have already placed my reserve pokemon.... I always get beat out of the gym though cause my pokemon are not strong enough.... we use the game to get my 8 yr old motivated to go out on an adventure. We have a park/trail with a lot of stops and walking it just to get the stops once is a 2 mile walk and he likes to do it so yippy...lol And I sorry everyone but I feel spoofing is wrong as the game is meant to get us up off our bums and go hang out... Heck I am anti social and I have talked/hung to more people in the last week thank I have in the last 3 years.... thanks to the game and my super social son :)
me and this one guy got into a 17 minute gym stealing battle with everyone around us. they kept battling our gym and as soon as it became neutral we placed a pokemon. we stole it atleast 15 times before someone finally beat us to it. it was like this stranger and i were just sitting there with our finger on the screen ready lol. kept placing our pokemon and pissing everyone off!
My Son has a disability that prevents him from walking, but he also wants to play like everyone else! I've driven him around in the car for miles very, very slowly hatching eggs & going to stops. The game should make an exception for disabled players and not ban them for finding a way around the " Rules" or here's a thought, make a version for handicap players! I know this video was about cheaters, but I'm sure some have a legit reason!
Yeah... not really, cheaters will just download the handicapped version and use that. Im sorry but this game is about being active and clearly your son cant be, maybe consider playing a different game in the franchise.
He technically was in the location though, the app doesn't need the person to be in the place, just the phone. As long as the phone itself is in the location he technically isn't cheating.
There used to be a bug where, once I sign on, my character stays in the same position and never moved. So I would sign on where there would be like 3 or 4 Pokestops, get stuck, go home, put my phone on charge and every 5 minutes or so, claim those Pokestops for the next 3 to 4 hours. Hey, if there gonna fuck up, at least use it to your advantage.
Why would you cheat in a game like Pokemon Go? All that means is you're going to miss out on the exploration and socializing that makes up the meat of the game. You'll only be cheating yourself.
Or they're adults with responsibilities like familes, a job, and shit to get done around the house but they still want to play despite the lack of available time. It's not always about how big your ego is.
I agree , I don't even see why you need to cheat to play. First of all walking around is definitely healthy (most people need exercise) , secondly socializing and going to new places is fun.

Actually I'm fine with walking, but I walked for almost 2 miles and my egg (It was a 2km egg and it already had 1.9km on it) didn't hatch, so I feel like the only way for my device to hatch eggs is if I steadily bike/drive at around 15 mph, although driving feels like cheating way to much because the limit for how fast you can go is around 25-30 mph. So basically if I want any egg progress I have to either drive a car and feel like a cheater, or abuse the spacing in my bike's metal bars in the tires (like in the video). In other words the only way I can hatch eggs is feel like a cheater or abuse the game's gps tracking.

well, I've gps spoofed, and I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that the game is a whole other experience in japan. I've been all over the world in the game and it's just unfair that they don't even have to try. for example at one place there was 5 pokestops accessible at one time, meaning you didn't even have to move. not only that but the pokemon.. when you're a gamer and it seems like you're being fucked because there simply isn't enough people playing it around you, then what are you supposed to do?
Just move your ass to a pokestop in real life and sit there for some time or move around it to hatch some eggs.I go a mile from my house for one pokestop but i still have fun riding around to hatch my eggs and seeing people :p
the gym thing is not cheating... It's a game flaw that allows people to take advantage of -- i don't like it, technically the gym should automatically go to the winner and they can instantly choose a pokemon and automatically give that pokemon full health, while reserving the gym for them... Given that the developers didnt design it that way, it is not cheating -- essentially it is like stalking your pray and taking them down while they are wounded... ideally you should band together with same colour teammates and have one of them waiting to take the gym (or take the flag)... The current way sucks... but it's all about tactics As for doing this for rewards -- you can only claim every 20hours... so you may steal it, but it's pretty easy to get it back if thats all the 'thief' was doing it for.. generally you want to try and secure as many gyms as possible before you claim... so it's much better to look for high level gyms, build it up to make space for a high CP so that it will give you time to enter more gyms and win a much bigger rewards... I've had it where ive been leveling up a gym, i go to add my pokemon and someone of the same colour and jumped in and taken my spot. evolving eevee is an easter egg NOT a cheat!!! Soft bans - locked out for an hour due to cheating -- thats no different from when the servers decide not to work... they should be locked out for a week...and the lockout should be for that device, not the account!!!
The benefit of "stealing" a gym, no matter how sneaky it is, is that you can collect one reward basically immediately. For example, when I went to Fenway Park a few weeks ago, I claimed the gym and reward. However, given how many people are there, I was beaten out within 3 minutes. But I got a few coins, so nbd.
Sally Jay Sparrow -- i guess in a busy area where gyms are constantly being taken over that will help -- i dont think it's cheating...it's just a sneaky tactic... where i live you can often keep a gym for at least half a day...a day if it's a strong gym and you have a very high CP pokemon... but there are those gyms that you keep for a very short time... Today i was lucky - i was part of two gyms and was able to claim
+Paul D (PD1986) yeah that's pretty much what it's like where I live, too. Places like the arcade and comic book store are hard to keep, but the smaller park with very few events is easy
In cities gyms change hands constantly. That said I'm usually able to go out at like 2am when normal people are asleep and claim at least 4. But even then if I push it too much to walk to the slightly further ones there is a chance someone will have kicked me from one I've already joined. If you try and take gyms during the day or especially after work hours trying to take more than one or two is probably a bad idea unless you're at the very top. The 6 or so gyms I can see from my house probably change teams five or six times a day.
minorking1121 -- if you are going out at 2am, you need to rethink your life... there is no reason to be running around after gyms at 2am and in certain locations would be very unsafe... personally i enjoy sleeping...and 2am is a great time for me to be a sleep.
Plz remember tho, that some people want to play the game but can't, usually from being immobile or in a hospital or sick or what what ever. Also, some of these aren't even cheats, like the eevee one, that is built into the game on purpose, the gym one is just taking something the game gave you, the drone one is just using your resources
The idea is that you were sitting there just watching others do the work and then taking it from them. Not that you were apart of a group all working together.

I get the egg thing because you can only hatch one egg at a time if you don't spend hard earned money on it, and the game seems intent on making your egg count be at max as often as possible, so it's hard to keep up without putting in a serious days worth of exercise.
I did #2 as soon as I got the game. I hid in the bushes and stalked a dude waiting for him to beat the gym. Then I stole it and watched him scratch his head.....
I think the hatching eggs by other means other than walking around or riding bikes is OK specially if you’re in a situation where you physically can’t go anywhere. And, the ways to name EEvees with name change is ok too. However, people that jump from country to country and play the game on the Computer instead of a device that they carry around with them I think those are cheaters that don’t need to be playing.
Some people are cheating to MAKE IT FAIR because they are disabled and CANT walk around. Small tweaks to the game would solve this problem while still keeping able bodied people active. 1. Allow Pokemon to spawn ANYWHERE (not just near gyms and pokestops) at least once an hour when a person hasn't moved from their location in an hour or more 2. Allow requests again...AND FULFILL THEM for disabled players 3. Allow the use of gyms and pokestops farther away say 1/4 or 1/2 mile. It would still require able users to keep walking for more, but disabled players will be more likely (urban areas) to have at least one gym and pokestop avail to play the game. More below as a reply running out of text room...
That being said, a game shouldn't get to discriminate against people with mobile disabilities so blatantly when there are easy solutions to include them. Also some facts: People with disabilities tend to have a lot more free time on their hands so they're more likely to play more often. Those bed or couch bound experience isolation and boredom so they're more likely to play as well. They make in app purchases too The social aspect isn't as important so much as the fun aspect of collecting, capturing and battling Disabled children are being made to feel left out while disabled parents are missing out on a fun way to bond with their kids simply because they don't have the ability to "go" as easily if at all when, again, the simple suggestions above could solve that. The main point is, don't immediately jump on and attack "cheaters" because many of them are just trying to play the game the only way that they can because of the limitations niantic has placed on the game
What about people without arms? What about blind people? Should we just make the game play itself, so it's equal for everyone? Let's jumble all text in the game to make it fair for dyslexics too.
The last one was the only real cheat for the game. The others make it easier and the "put phone on spinning thing" one is kinda cheep, but not really a cheat...

It does't matter what you think. The truth of the matter is that "anime" is short for "アニメーション" (animeeshon), which is the Japanese word/pronunciation of animation. Yes, outside Japan, "anime" is used to reference Japanese animation. But inside Japan, saying "anime" is the same thing as saying "cartoon" in the US. Saying anime isn't cartoons is like saying Japanese video games aren't video games.
Technically it will, if the spin is large enough and goes for long enough. I accidentally hatched an egg by just spinning around in a circle on my chair long enough. I wasn't trying to hatch the egg, just was bored waiting for stuff to load on my laptop and nothing was active near me on Pokemon.
Just leaving your phone on your desk with pokemon running eventually hatches your eggs because the gps is not 100% exact so your character will "run" back and forth a few meters. My friend hatched some of his eggs this way, it only took a couple of hours for him to hatch 2km eggs.
arina Maybe your gps is too good and accurate so it knows you are not moving. :p I have found that in tunnels the gps struggles to know where you are exactly, so the worse gps reception you have without losing it entirely, the more your pokemon character should be moving around even when you are standing still. Try to put your phone in the basement :p
Back when I played Pokemon Go, I created some weird contraption for my phone to spin in circles. I know it may sound lazy but at the time I was watching my great grandmother and couldn't leave the house at all. It was a quick way of getting those miles without leaving my grandmother to possibly get hurt.
I'm not lazy. I actually wanna walk and hatch those eggs and everything but the only thing I hate is that you have to have the app open in order to count your steps. The reason why I can't have the app open all the time is because my phone gets so hot, I'm so scared that it might ruin the battery
I got a Jolteon named Pyro, and a friend got a Vaporeon same name. I think its just coincidence. I did however get a Vaporeon after nicknaming it Vaporeon. Coincidences happen.
Same here, although I only go into the city once a week or so. And I still don't cheat. Why? Because there is no point playing the game if you're cheating...

+Someone random Pokemon go doesn't pick up distance above a certain speed so unless that was 30km of bumper to bumper traffic at walking pace this does not work
