For over five decades, Rick has mastered the art of capturing moments as a professional image maker and artist. During his 15 years as a staff photojournalist at the Miami Herald, he was part of a team that earned a public service Pulitzer for their coverage of Hurricane Andrew.
Now, for the past 23 years, Rick has nurtured creative minds as a Senior Professor of Graphic Design at Broward College, building and leading the college's Graphic Design A.S. degree program.
But today, he embarked on a thrilling expedition with us: exploring the fascinating intersection of Artificial Intelligence and humanity.
As an educator passionate and deeply knowledgeable about AI's potential, Rick empowers others through the AI Institute at Broward College, preparing them for the impacts AI will have on our future work and lives.
CreativeZen was born out of a desire for Choose954 to connect, engage, and inspire our local creative community with support from Nova Southeastern University's Alvin Sherman Library and their Circle Of Friends board. We open the doors 30 minutes before the talk starts to mix, meet, and mingle with fellow likeminded members of our community.
Every Creative Zen event includes a complimentary guided meditation before a short inspiring and thought provoking talk during the second Friday morning of the month. All Creative Zen events are free of charge and open to the community, being creative is not required!
