if these are really barbary lions then a breading program needs to be created and reintroduced the breed back into the wild so they once again can do what they were supposed to do.
@@zaneisinsane6586 They have lived for over 4000 years amongst the native Berber tribes in the Atlas mountains, they got extinct because of the French colonization, the tribes still tell stories about how they co existed with these magnificent animals. The French are to blame for their disappearance in the wild.
@@damianfung3309 The Moroccan king has a private zoo, Barbary Lions have been kept there for over 200 years. Those might be the last pure Barbary Lions. Lucky for us this king is not like his father and wishes to re integrate them into the wild, but the overpopulation of the Atlas region is making it impossible. With efforts of LionAlert they are planning to make a national park for them deep in the Atlas mountains. Hopefully we could see them free and rising in their natural habitat in 10 years time.
Why don’t u hold the baby nicely like the lady, because ur not holding him properly, he isn’t comfortable in ur hand. If mama lioness would be out, u would be in big trouble for holding her baby like that!
How about breeding them in the same zoo as their mother instead of separating them. Poor zoo keeper becomes attached to them, how about the poor mother and cub who never get the chance to become attached to each other.
Leave these two cubs to their parents... Can't you know see the cubs are agitated, starving and want therir mum. Dad and Mum are watching in agony. Shame on you!!! You only keep these poor animals to make money out of it but have no respect for their dignity
What proof do they have these are Barbary Lions? There is no DNA evidence that suggests there are any Barbary Lions anywhere in the world. If they are only using the mane to reach that conclusion then they are sadly uneducated.
WILD THINGS studies have shown that none of these lions that people have been claiming to barbary lions are not purely barbary lions you won't find a pure barbary lion today
Why are these cubs not with their mother in a den with privacy and then introduced to their dad at about 8 weeks. Why are the zoo keepers feeding the cubs. Why is this zoo going against all the natural behaviours in a lion pride. Hate this it's unnatural and wrong. Even if we can't rewild all lions in captivity we should at least allow them a semblance of natural life
Unless their mother refuses them those cubs should not be fed by humans as doing so their immunitary system falls down. These people are talking about training the cubs. For which purpose? Are zoos circus? When will zoos respect animals, senting beings who are not their slaves nor a means to make money?
Yes, that is the biggest mistake men are doing. There is nothing in this world which can compensate mother's milk. Drinking mother's milk makes the cubs stronger and healthier and to develop stronger immunity. All living creatures which are supposed to be nursed must and should be nursed until they are naturally weaned. Human interventions are not good at all.
Sofina Castillo,yes they should be with their mother at least until the mother we answer but,once again zoos think they know best imagine how that mother feels hearing her babies crying. Damn humans suck
@@ethanstewart728 I believe I know that all baby animals should stay with their mothers unless she rejects them which is not what happened here. These are not even pure Barbary lions which makes it even more cruel to take them away from their mothers at an early age

The father doesn't appear to be a barbary lion to me. He doesn't really have the features of a barbary lion. Just because a lions mane connects under the belly doesn't necessarily make it a barbary. You have to look for prominent features in the face. For example barbary lions have a mean mug, Regal face, their face kinda looks scrunched up like they're always mad. They also have 2 light spots on the top of their eyebrows. And they have a dark line that goes right down the middle of their face, from the crown of they're head to the bottom of the nose. I didn't see any of those features on the father.
Zoos are not good locations for such magnificent wild animals that need large acreage to roam not tiny enclosures that zoos usually only offer these magnificent big cats. I agree regarding the bleeding programs to keep this subspecies blood lines as pure as possible. Sanctuaries with large habits is what these Barbary Lions deserve to have not miserable tiny enclosures to be confined to the rest of there lives. So you guys must be responsible breeders and only send these beautiful big cats to large habitat sanctuary’s not Zoos!
The man doesn't know how to hold or pacify the baby. Look at your friend, how she is able to lull the other baby! Separating the cubs when 4 weeks old from their mother for other breeding programs is outrageous. Do you care about the emotional health of the mother and these tiny cubs? This statement about relocating cubs when they are very young is BS. They need the mother's care for at least a few months. And, neither is the lioness a production machine for you. Zoos are experts at justifying all actions under the garb of conservation.
Oftenly there is no other option! Anyway when in Taigan park in Crimea there was the same thing,they left babies with moms in safari and didn't intervene and so they had the same thing as in nature when only one out of ten cubs reached adulthood because other nine of them were simply killed and eaten by other lions and lionesses so they decided to take cubs away and give them back to mothers after isolating mother from other lions and now they have 9 out of ten cubs surviving instead of one!And I remember that story with li-liger cubs which all were females and in fact there was also one male li-liger in those two litters but you know what happened to him?Just his huge but totally inexperienced mom laid on him and killed him instantly and so the zookeepers had to remove the rest of the cubs because they would have met the same fate otherwise!
Those Lions in the background( if they are) do not at all look like Barbary Lions. You guys look up Kensington TV , those Lions on that channel are some REAL Barbary Lions !!
While handling cubs zoo keeper must wear gloves so that they don't transfer any human scent or smell to cubs as cubs can b rejected by mother .they should know atleastt this as zoo keeper 😢
Most likely not. But they probably have Barbary lion blood in them, making them suitable carriers of the genes. Of course, breeding will have to be done responsibly, avoiding breeding between close relatives to minimize the likelihood of birth defects, so it will probably be a while before the genes to make a "true" Barbary lion can be combined effectively.
