I am an BJP worker, but I see Gaurav Gogoi as the future of Assam.

Congress needs a strong leadership in NE to counter Kiran Rijiju and Himanta Biswa. I believe Gaurav Gogoi is the right person.

Everything Gaurav Gogoi said about buying assets is very true. Everyone in Assam knows that. Assamese people can be divided into two sections. One section comprises of all his pet dogs who get a piece of the pie. The other section is the ignorant and oppressed who are scared of dissent. I firmly believe one day Shri Gaurav Gogoi will CM of Assam and leader of NE.

What he said regarding HBS and his colleagues, everything is correct. Every person of Assam now know about HBS and his cos. galloping lands, looting money in the name of infrastructure development, not giving respect to party elders etc. (He made a minor mistake at 18:25 bdw, where he said that no representative from TEA garden community. Kamakhya Prasad Tasa is there.) Now, I think INC should change its State President of Assam, as well as general secretary in-charge of Assam. I highly doubt that they have underlying links with HBS as they didn't provide strong candidates. Gaurav, Pradyut, Rokibul got candidature only because of their own might. All other candidates are so weak that, most of them didn't even have any popular presence. Moreover although not about INC, but I think Lurinjyoti would have a much greater chance of winning against Pradan Baruah of Lakhimpur constituency, than against Sonowal.

Young progressive politics should be given a chance.

Congressi nostaligia, Hemanta's arrogance and sympathy helped Gaurav in this election. As a Jorhatian, I can guarantee people hate Hemanta's shrewdness. Even if he promises orgnaisation and economic development, Assamese people are not attracted to rapid change and opportunism. They would rather have a slow life than compete with others. In fact, people will find that more sophisticated than Hemanta shouting religious nonsense. Except for calmness, I am not sure what Gaurav has to offer. Jorhat has always been stuck in the 80s. Have driven out enough young people (like me) out of the town. But, that's never a "mudda."
