The Osram light was found on Ebay but I dont have a link to that exact light bar.. just search for 20 inch osram light bar. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! About time someone puts up a side by side review. I run all Cree 48",4x4" and they are great.. Just don't have the distance I want. Was thinking about adding a 30" osram to my existing setup. Looks like it will work for me as I expected it to.

Thanks very much for the side by side comparison and especially for the photos. Most video cameras do not have manual exposure settings, which means the camera meters the exposure for the brightest part of the available light rather than blow that out and show you the flood lighting the eye sees. You were able to work around that with the still photos, perhaps shooting the video on a dslr in manual mode would over-ride the auto exposure, I don't know. edit: as an afterthought, I'd really like a double row bar that has the dish reflectors for a good flood light on the bottom row and the fisheye style on the other row for a long distance spot.

I didn’t go through all the comments. One suggestion when trying to compare lighting is to make sure to “lock” the aperture setting. The bright spot of the OSRAM may have closed down the aperture setting on the camera and gave a darker peripheral impression. That would mirror what you see because your eye’s iris would also do the same thing in brighter light.

nice comparison, i think a 3d lens cree would of been better to compare since that was the latest until osram light bars came out.. i was runnig two 9" round 3d lens lights on the front bumper and a 22" osram on my jeeps hood.. that was a lot of light.. no you can get the 4d lens with the 3w cree led, and it's really good light output and not as expensive as osram

@JohnDoe-gm5qr
@JohnDoe-gm5qr 8 лет назад
+BCNEWSVIDEO Cree is supposed to be good brand for LEDs. I have not tried many but I have one of those flashlights with a Cree LED. It was advertised as 2200 lumens but I am not 100% sure of that claim. It is a bright sone though and I can see the tops of some trees at night if I wanted to. I usually keep it focused to that funky looking square and that thing will shine for a nice distance. It uses a 26650 lithium ion cell. They are safe if rjust stay away from low quality Chinese batteries. If you buy one of these beware of fake Ultrafire batteries, there are too many fake Ultrafire batteries and they are potentially very dangerous especially when more than one is used in a flashlight.

I have used both and the cree looses that brightness after about 100 to 150 hours where as the osram I've have for well over 150 hours and is still as bright as it was the day I opened it......in my opinion osram is way better for long term usage
@SchweinungHD
@SchweinungHD 7 лет назад
The Cree bar is a combo led bar. The Osram is a spot led bar. You can get Osram combo bars too, so this is not really a Cree vs Osram test, but more of a spot vs flood vs combo test. :) Osram are great diodes, and so are Cree

I used a nikon coolpix p530 for this whole video and for most of my other daylight videos but I have found that my wife's samsung galaxy s6 does the best for recording the light from the light bars at night. none of the cameras I've tried do the light bars any justice though.... they all dim down when I press record. is there a setting that will do a better job?

I would like to see a comparison with two 5 watt powered bars both with combo beams but this video is enlightening. Those lenses on the Osram sure focus the beam if they had the floods designed as well as the spot it would be a great combination, I have a 50 inch bar from STV on Amazon with 100 5 watt Cree Led's combination flood and spot pattern it spreads a wide pretty even light. As are most I could afford it is made in China. Unfortunately I just lost one LED in the middle of the bar this week. I may try to solder in a replacement I have had it about 2 years and use it once or twice a week I have never been disappointed except the bad LED.

Cree stays consistent with there beam angles where osram labels one bar I looked at with 10° beam angle and another with a 40° beam angle but both are listed as spot beams,
@Brett_S
@Brett_S 4 года назад
That has nothing to do with cree vs osram. That has everything to do with the lenses/optics the manufacture uses. You can have the exact same cree led at 5 degree or 50 degree just changine the lens/reflector. Same goes for osram.

+eacardoc1 so what are you thoughts of the flood pattern on the Osrom? is it sufficient for seeing deer, and other critters, along rural roads when driving at night? or should i go with the cree?
@eacardoc1
@eacardoc1 8 лет назад
+Bocephus Just my opinion but I prefer the cree for that.... now if you want to spot a deer at 100 yards then I'd go with the osram! The Osram just doesn't have enough flood lighting for me. I actually wanted to see what it would look like with both going down the road, the osram for long distance and the cree for the flood lighting.... then you would have the best of both worlds.... just never got around to trying it.

can u tell me which will be best for car if i want to use it for driving on highways without headlights of car
@eacardoc1
@eacardoc1 8 лет назад
The Cree lights up the road best but problem is that they would both blind oncoming traffic or even blind the person in front of you with the glare in their mirrors so you can't really use them for you main driving lights. I don't have mine on when I'm driving in traffic, only when there aren't any other vehicles on the road.

They're not CREE led's in that light bar. They are Epistar. It's a poor Chinese version of the CREE led. If that was a true CREE led light bar with 10 watt CREE led's the light output would be simply incredible. Equal to about 3 or 4 of those light bars, The Chinese are good at stealing American developed electronics and making them dirt cheap but not as good. CREE is a registered patented LED technology developed at NCSU.

your joking right? osram isnt a light bar company... they are a brand of led manufacturer. the led bars in this video are cheap amazon bars. Rigid Industries is the biggest name brand of led products in the world. if youve never heard of them then you shouldnt even be commenting.
@AndrewStorlie
@AndrewStorlie 7 лет назад
the each individual led in the light bars has NOTHING to do with the quality of the light bar itself... each led could be worth 1000 bucks and have 100% efficiency but that dont mean shit when the led HOUSING is shit. cree, Phillips and osram is ONLY the led itself. and if you know so much about leds then you also would know and fully understand that when leds are made they are sorted in to Bins to separate the top tier and lower tier leds. the low tier leds are used in cheap led bars like the ones in this video, hense why they are cheap. still osram led just low grade chips. this is my last reply as im not fighting with an idiot who cant tell the difference between an led manufacturer and a led bar brand
