Got Aventus almost exactly a year ago and did an unboxing video but never made a review on it. Here's my thoughts on the fragrance after owning it for a year now!
Well, i said i would buy another bottle of aventus when i run out but today, i probably wont. I like aventus cologne more and it lasts longer on my skin, so i would rather buy another bottle of that instead haha. Aventus is still 10/10 scent, but aventus cologne to me is 🤴
The bottles from this year 2023 with the metal cap now last longer. It’s sad and disappointing that you got one of the 2020-2022 bottles because those bottles aren’t even a faint of what Aventus is. If you could ever sample a bottle from 2019 or earlier, I suggest to try
I’m my opinion, Aventus never needed to macerate, the 2020-2022 bottles are lacking. I suggest you get the new 2023 bottles with metal cap, they last longer, or even better if you can get your hands on a bottle that’s 2019 or earlier
@@blackknightdlI have a 2019 bottle that I bought used, I actually prefer it to the 16/17/18 batches that I've had. Recently just bought a 2024 batch with the black cap too.
I bought this same batch from Costco last year. The performance was so terrible that I put it away and even considered returning it. It wasn’t a nose blind thing bc my other decants last. I don’t know how I came across your video, but thanks for reminding me to revisit it to see if it’s improved!
Picked up a L4222C11A batch from Costco and the juice is a beast. After unboxing, I sprayed it on my skin and it easily lasted 7 hours, giving heavy projection for the first 2 hours. I have a few F batch samples and it lasts longer than the newer batches on my skin. My batch is very fruity for about 1-2 hours and then the birch/smokiness comes through and then the musk. Very balanced IMO. Can't wait to let my bottle macerate cause I already know this thing will be screaming off my skin!!
I have a new metal cap batch F000545 and also the CDNIM. I can confirm the Aventus new batch “F code” is really good and lasts atleast 6 hours and the scent gets even better over time. It really is quite addictive and one of my favourite scents ever. The CDNIM is definitely a very similar clone and smells almost the same after dry down unless you really focus on the differences. I do think the Aventus is nicer - more clean and fresh, and smells less synthetic and musky after dry down, so to me it’s worth the extra money. However, I can understand why people get the CDNIM instead if you don’t want to spend a lot of cash.
I have an F000 batch and the smell is unreal and smells how its supposed to..(way better than cdn). But in the first 10 sprays so far it just has no longevity or projection
I was planning to make one, just don't know when haha. I haven't had it for that long to see if there's any changes in performance yet, but if you guys want me to!
I've been testing it in department stores and smells awesome on my skin and paper. Asked for a sample (they had to make one for me), got home sprayed it and smelt like bug spray. I was wtf they probably did something to the sample vial 😂
ive got aventus and laventure and CDNIM, laventure is pretty close to aventus when it settles, but CDNIM is beast mode aventus . that stuff u wont want to put on in a office with the 5 spary pattern
Aventus has grown on me over the course of a few month. I first for a decant of it and was "meh I don't get the hype." Then the other week I decided to try it again and I was just blown away by it. At first it smelled like burning wood but after a little bit of age/oxidation it opened up into one of my all time favorite scents and bought a bottle from a discounter.
@@micaelmartinssequeira2178 If it's authentic, there shouldn't be issues with strength. The people saying that don't understand olfactory fatigue. It's the same principle where a farmer won't realize he smells like manure at the end of the day.
I’ve been receiving random Creed Aventus samples for the past two years. Across these samples I really love my oldest sample the most when compared to the newer samples. The pineapple is prominent and I can really smell the black currant and smoke. The other samples smell more like lemon and fade fast but the oldest one has some longevity. Is this a change in formulation across the years or is it simply maceration? We know that fragrances can become better with age if stored properly. Should it I get it and hope that in a few years it lives up to the hype?
Not gonna lie I bought my aventus bottle based off of trying a sample, but the samples I tested smelled so much better than my full bottle. I love the scent of my bottle, but for some reason the samples I tried were blasting with pineapple fruit and I kinda wish my bottle was the same 😅
I have Aventus since 2017 and i use it in special occasions but i have so many clones to use them daily . I noticed the real Aventus is coming more stronger and Smokey by aging .
Is it just me or does CDNIM limited edition have something pungent and kind of rotten in it that makes the regular CDNIM edt much better? Of course the opening sucks but the regular CDNIM turns into a great fragrance and all my girlfriends have always loved it.
@@jamesbaka1206people in the fragrance subs think I’m crazy, but edt is my favorite too. Once you get past that opening, the dry down smells better than the others (and different than aventus in a good way imo)
Hello My aventus is F001397 I bought it 15 days ago on the official website... it doesn't project and I only feel 2 to 3 hours!!! very fresh but without duration and projection!!! I was sad, I was waiting for more Greetings
I’m sure it’s just noseblind don’t worry I’m sure people still smell it 👌🏼 I remember the first time I sprayed my decant I went noseblind but my coworker asked me what I was wearing because it was really strong 😂
Yeah I wear it a lot and bring it with me on my trips. I don't really think about saving it that much, I think I just generally use a lot less sprays than the average user. Like 1-2 sprays for me. 3 tops
So when I go out clubbing, I use CNIM-LE(wow what a mouthful) and layer it with a pineapple cologne and the girls don’t know the difference between you wearing a clone or not and honestly the sillage is better to go clubbing why waste your aventus cologne on a night out just save it for a date/work etc.
I have been buying Aventus since 2015, owning batches of 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and now 2022. The newer ones I have are 22a01a , 22b11a and a tester bottle with uncolored creed lettering on the bottle, batch F000412 . 22a01a has become one of my favorites batches ever! Mouthwatering pineapple and birch! But they are all really nice actually. After 2 hours or so I go noseblind but I have been complimented after 7 hours more than once. That being said, I think (at least for modern Aventus since 2013/14) the batch discussion is a bit exaggerated. There are maybe slight differences, but honestly, in a blind test I could never differentiate between the batches I own. I also own some clones but if you ask me, they all lack in comparison. CDNIM edp is not a bad fragrance in itself but imo it’s no real competition, especially smelled from up close.
I agree, I tried a bunch of clones but nothing really gets that close to aventus imo. CDNIM parfum seems like it is its own thing, but still pretty good in its own way. Not as good as aventus though haha
@@thekaydubz My favourite clones fly under the radar: Perfume Parlour Avalanche Woody 1848 (hits the creamy roasted birch really well!) and Loewe Esencia EDP (not the edt, thats a whole different fragrance). If someone is in search for a substitution I would recommend these two over CDNIM.
@@subliminal5163 I decant in a small travel spray bottle and go with 2 - 3 sprays in the morning, and then add maybe 4 more sprays throughout the day (maybe like one more spray every 3 hours until evening or 2 more sprays at lunch time and 2 more sprays in the evening time, just how I feel like that day) if I want to make sure it is noticeable and to enjoy a bit of the opening again. I spray I‘d say 75% on skin and 25% on clothing. So all in all around 6 - 7 on a full wear day. But smaller sprays, the travel atomizer doesn’t pump out as much as the creed bottle atomizer.
I don't get that maceration thing. I bought my bottle F000388 in Feb 2023 and up until now (end of May 2023) I used more than you on a video. My level of juice is right below word Creed. On clothes it is noticeable along the day but not projecting from them and on skin it stops to project after 2h on me. And I spray a lot.. on neck 10 sprays and on chest and shoulders also in total 10 sprays (overall 18-20 sprays). I ask my wife if she smells something on me after few hours she says no from distance and only she can smell aventus putting nose very close to clothes, so no self projection from airwaves. :) Bottle is legit from official creed online store in Europe.
Could be various different things. Maybe even if you used a lot, try letting it sit for a while? My juice is a year old now even if I haven't used that much. Skin chemistry is also a huge factor. I sprayed aventus on my friend and his skin just absorbed everything haha. On me it lasts considerably longer from the same tester bottle I had.
Take a break from all your fragrances and let your nose rest a bit. If you are overspraying and also use the same fragrance on and on it's a common sense that you and your wife became noseblind to it.
@@Oldish2002 Well, I have around 40 different perfumes (niche and designers almost equally). Aventus I wear maybe once in 10-15 days. I don't wear other perfumes everyday as well so my nose is not exhausted in my opinion. Aventus is just not a strong fragrance, even though I love the scent and have a backup bottle of it. Creed did not print what is the alcohol concentration on a box so I don't exactly know how much oil concentration in it. In one video with Jeremy Fragrance, Erwin Creed said it has 15% of oil concentration (which is lower bottom of EDP). Knowing that, my other EDT (not EDP) frags like BDC, D&G light blue Italian Love - they last almost equally so I assume Aventus has higher EDT concentration and barely EDP. Performance is reasonable for EDT as well.
@@sayhellotoroy I got your point. Aventus is not as strong as a gourmand/sweeter fragrance but among freshies it's really good. At least in my case. I had a 2017 batch which was always 8+ hours and now have a newer batch (2022) which also lasts on average 6-8 hrs. Decent and noticeable projection/scent trail. There are many hyped fragrances that I dislike but Aventus is a great one in my books. Have you tried cndim or afnan not only intense ? Aventus vibes but obviously stronger. There are also many other aventus interpretations to buy but IMO Aventus is unbeatable.
@@Oldish2002 I don't like the idea of clones :) so I did not try them, even though they are stronger but they do not give same experience. I just hope Creed will do a new concentration of Aventus (Extrait, Elixir, Intense, whatever). Otherwise I will be buying a new bottle once a year and check if next batch will work on my skin better.
@@danielmoya7 creedfragrance is a fake website that looks really well put together. Ive read the reviews people were very disappointed after buying from them creed boutique is the official creed website.
The smoke in the Aventus was the only thing that made this perfume stood out. It.s such a generic fragrance without it, but hey people enjoy generic fragrances.
@@SPACEDOUT19 I think he is saying when they removes the smokiness from Aventus, it didn’t stand out anymore. I think it’s more than just the smokiness that made it stand out than others. The only way Aventus could considered generic is nowadays because a lot of fragrances ar snow influenced by it
Yea no, they fucked up Aventus forever. I had batches from 2014. I picked up another bottle from 2023, it’s watered down. Absolutely not worth it anymore.
