Thank you Mad Jock and STV. Fabulous footage from Australia's dark past. The GTK stands for Get To Know, which was the national broadcaster's "hip" title for it's weekly rock broadcast. The program was broadcast nationally across the entire continent and certainly contributed to the creation of Australia's musical identity and sound. The show was hosted by a dork named Ross D. Wylie and his output can be found here at RU-vid. Certainly a little out of step with the times of this footage. Thanks again.

Thanks for that info Paul, I have a lot of video from this show and often wondered what the GTK stood for. 🙂

@@ScottishTeeVee It's how you say it....man. Lots of weird beards were getting creative on the public dollar and some of their more esoteric "home grown" film clips for what was psychedelic rock are hilarious. More importantly, shows like GTK also led to the resurgence of the Australian film industry not long after, such were the skills developed from TV and used in film. BTW, the concert footage was from Royal Randwick racecourse!

That was a great time capsule. It's such a pity they couldn't work things out and stay together. Thank you for posting this, and thanks to Mad Jock for the donation as well! 👏👏🙂

The line of questioning was pretty offensive.

Crikey! Cosmos Factory was the first record I bought, John Fogerty remains my favourite singer (also up there in the guitarist stakes), and Doug Clifford a favoured and under-rated drummer. Those ferries still operate on Sydney Harbour. You're hitting sixes here, Stevee (along with yer Mad Jock mate!).

They broke up later that year. Tom had left the band already.

That reporter, whoever she was, was incredibly rude and negative, what was her problem?
