Hi, love your channel. I am Jeff Fogerty ( Tom Fogerty's son and John Fogerty's nephew ) you need to check out many more Creedence songs. PROUD MARY, Down on the corner. Run through the Jungle etc
Jeff Fogerty Hi Jeff! I'm an oldie from Down Under! I just wanted to tell you the joy that CCR gave my brother in the early seventies! We were living in a flat (apartment) at the time! We used to sit in his bedroom on a Saturday afternoon and listen to the music that was booming from the stereo that was blasting up the street! There was a teenage boy with a powerful stereo and he used to blast it out! Lol! Being in my early teens at the time I LOVED it and they will always be my favourite band! Take care and stay safe! Greetings from Australia!
@@wendyryder2708 hello ! Glad that dads music was/is part of your life. For me, even if Creedence wasn't my dad and Uncle John, I would still totally love the music... take care and stay safe... 🤗🤗 jeff
Jeff Fogerty John Fogerty is a national treasure, almost went to vegas last fall to attend a concert, couldn’t arrange it...hope to see him live some day
John Payaso De La Muerte Reynolds ... right? I saw their debut tour in high school (late 60s), when they were on a double bill with the Eagles! ...They blew everyone away.
Same for me , I guess we are aproximatly the same age and I really enjoy this . three years ago I was riding from the north to south vietnam with a clearance soundtrack , that will be good memories forever .
John Forgety had the rare ability of writing what on the face of it seemed like a simple song with simple lyrics, yet on reflection, they were truly far more complex and meaningful than you ever thought.
One of the greatest bands of all time in any era..... PERIOD!!! A lot of their music has stood the test of time & when it’s still played regularly today around the world, that’s a mark of respect to their longevity & success. Their music is littered through many of the movies set in the Vietnam war. This song alone is a huge flashback to my childhood 😋😋😋
This is one of the songs from the Vietnam War era. You often hear it played in movies, tv shows, documentaries, during those years. It is often played with anything depicting hippy stuff too. lol And one of my favorite quotes is " Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning how to dance in the rain." :o)
Lead singer-songwriter John Fogerty was phenomenal! If you ever have attended a professional baseball game, you may have heard John Fogerty's 1985 solo hit called "Centerfield" played over the stadium sound system. ("Put me in, Coach / I'm ready to play ... today / Look at me / I can be ... centerfield."
Hah, take it then you haven’t been to the Bay Area and seen what marshes and wetland swamps exist at the edge of the Bay! Work through those NorCal marsh swamps everyday!
I always assumed they were from Louisiana. Until I was in my twenties and found out they were from California. Serving in the Marine Corps with people from all over the country, I soon found out that Northern California has a very "Southern" culture. I'm from the GREAT State of Texas, btw.
@@michaelshelton5488 CCR is the pride of my hometown, El Cerrito, a small town across the bay from San Francisco, next to Berkeley: the epicenter of anti-Vietnam war movements! 👏💪👍
Everybody & their dog has covered that song. Most are tepid & boring, but CCR is one of only three worth listening to, IMO. Another good one is by Nina Simone. But for the surprise of your life, watch the b&w version by nine year-old Angelina Jordan. It is the best since Screamin'Jay Hawkins. Believe me!
Also, “Put Me In Coach”! Love that one too... just in case someone hasn’t told you about it. I’m an 80 year old woman and I am in love with your channel young man. You remind me of my precious grandson who will be 25 in August. ❤️
Together from 1967 to 1972 and sold something like 28 million albums, plus made it into the Hall of Fame. Those are lifetime numbers and they did it in five years. Unbelievable.
Credence Clearwater Was The Best !!had All his songs .His music was so unique.Yor doing a Great job !! Am going to follow you for sure, keep up the good work !!🏴🏴
"Run Through The Jungle" probably being the most famous one of those songs. The story tells it was actually written to critisize USA's part in the war.
CCR. Great band. Fell apart through in fighting within the band. Mainly between the Fogerty brothers where they sued each other about the songs. Saw them in '71 as a warm up for The Who at the legendary Forest Hills gig. They were huge at one time and brought back the 'jug band' sound. John is still around rockin'. They had many many 'miss heard lyrics' hits. This song is about the impending band break up. They had about a 5 year massive hits run.
My Favorite CCR song!!, although hard to pick just one!! I can and have, listened to this on loop for days!! I Absolutely Love it!! Met a Vietnam Vet, and he was telling me about all the rain in Vietnam and and so many stories. I have a soft spot for veterans, and war movies!! Thank you CCR, for all the music you shared with the world, and is engrained into my soul!!
CCR's entire catalog is reaction worthy, but if I were to pick one I really want you to hear it'd be "Long As I Can See The Light". I promise, you won't be disappointed. 🖤
Hi I am 78 years old so I was around when Rock n Roll first came on the scene and have been in several British bands in the 1960s, CCR have always been one of my favourite bands ever. Most of their songs are deep but they have some more lighthearted songs such as "Lookin Out My Back Door" certainly worth checkin out man...Love your passion man!

@@jimcowan8770 Indeed! Still my top favorite! These guys put on the Best show back then. I seen them again...few years with the new member. Was incredible 👏
Have you ever seen the rain coming down on a sunny day? The band had a succession of hits after struggling unknown for years. But their very success was causing friction and jealousy in the band. So even though they were enjoying huge success (the sunny day), John Fogerty knew that it was soon going to be over (the rain). And that's what the song was about.
The group had a lot of good songs with John Fogerty as the lead singer. I had never bought any of their LPs, but I did buy this as a 45. It's extremely catchy. It's got a well-placed hook.
This is the stuff my mom and dad played when i was a kid. I had the best on both parents side with music they listened to. Everything from ccr kiss zeppelin black sabbath to patsy cline george jones hank williams and waylon jennings. It was great. Thank you for reacting to some of greats (at least to me).
in 2017 i was in a trip in D.C. and took a car and we drove through the fields of virginia, delaware and maryland, on the radio was this song and the gray sky and the rain was ... fabulous
CCR is a classic. I love their music, thanks to my parents. Very popular in Central America, you still hear the music playing in bars and radio stations.
This was my first album my grandma bought me after growing up with big bands my parents listened to. Thank you so much and miss you after all these years. No one listens to music like this anymore God bless you
One of the best songs ever made. Nothing makes u feel like this song. Every in a bad situation. Anything. Freaking out for any reason. Idc what the reason. Throw this on.
Thank you Jamal, for connecting people, for connecting generations, and thank you sir for demonstrating that music transcends beyond cultures, races or religions.
I heard he said it was about a devastating tornado that happened in America in 1969 and here is the link to the story ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-flzm3jQW94I.html
Love CCR!! For some reason Southerners like to claim them as a Southern Rock band but they are a Californian band!! None the less, they're an amazing band!! ❤
I heard you and agree. Paying attention to the thought that the artist put into it is something you think about much later in life. So much talent out there. Thank you.
Creedence... in my top 6 all time musical artists. And that list includes Mozart, Beethoven, Bing Crosby, and the Beatles. For Country Rock there is no touching Creedence. Period. They ARE the gold standard in that genre.
you have entered the realm of southern rock even though they were from CA, check out some Marshall Tucker or the outlaws or blackfoot you won’t be disappointed
Watching you when it dawns on you that you know a song-the expression on your face makes me think of a kid at Christmas opening a present he is happy he likes. That moment makes it really fun when I know the song, have memories of it, and know what a hit it was. I wish you could have enjoyed music then for one reason-the music scene wasn’t so “crowded”. When something became a hit it could get radio play for months and years...gave you time to have it become part of the soundtrack of your childhood. Hasn’t been like that since. You would have liked it.
Man how i miss my dad..,but 🎵I KNOW 🎶someday i gonna hold he's hand in heaven again+,,but for now i gonna keep enjoying all this great music he heritage me love you papi😢👌thanks jamal👍
Jamal wonderful to look back on this hit song of Creedence Clearwater Revival but by their lead singer and many more songs John Fogerty their lead singer is on the right side of the picture with his older brother Tom Fogerty , who tragically and unexpectedly died in the 1980s standing next to band member Stu Cooke. John Fogerty's brother Tom got him involved with the band at a very early age and he became their lead singer primary composer of all the many hits that CCR has been blessed with. Fogarty was a master of buyou or Cajun Rock, loving and intrigued with this musical art style although he was born and raised Berkeley California area. CCR was one of many headline acts germinated in the late 1960s in the San Francisco Bay Area Santana and others. Now that you have listened to this masterful John Fogerty compositiion, it is time for you to listen and react to a companion composition Composed by John Fogerty titled " Who Will Stop The Rain?" Which is one of my favorites and a top five hit in 1970. John was inspired to write this following his experience and that of CCR at the 1969 Woodstock Festival, which he noted they were supposed to start their performance at 9:30 in the evening but after following a slow start by Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead they started between 1 and 2 in the morning when all of the mass of people were actually asleep and it was a rainstorm. There are many RU-vid videos where he's interviewed about what happened and why this was an inspiration for for that song as a headline act in the famous 1969 Woodstock festival in Upper state New York.. you will know that he began their performance at nearly 2:30 in the morning and indicate they were glad to be there and he noted that there was one you were in the mass of people with his lighter on telling him John I'm here ready to hear you. He said they sang they're set of songs for the benefit of that one listener far out in the audience even though everybody else appeared to be asleep at the time under their tents and coverings. John Fogerty was born three months after I was in June of 1945 and is still active with his children and other family members as you can see on RU-vid videos which they sing together play their instruments. One of the videos is one they did from a baseball stadium featuring his song when he broke off from CCR it is composition and album of Centerfield he composed and recorded in the 1980s original.
@@foodandhomeprep8425 Its inspired by his son "Fogerty, however, has stated in interviews that the song was actually written for his then three-year-old son, Josh. Fogerty has also said that the reference to a parade passing by was inspired by the Dr. Seuss book And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street."
They were very young, great lyrics, great basic playing, and every song had a monster hook. Even one of those three would be amazing at that age. All three? I can't even...
@@jamelakajamal People are rightly hollering for "I put a spell on you", should be a couple of decent (stereo) videos of CCR doing this. Promo videos and you get to see the band 😃
Jamel_AKA_Jamal I don’t think you can pick a bad song from CCR! Ha! Love Everything they Do! However,. Two of My favorites is The Midnight Special & Long As I Can See The Light! Two Great Songs from a Great Band & One of My All Time Favorite Bands Ever! 👍
