He shot high...not low! He was very lucky to get him. The shot looked like it was pretty close...inside 20 yards. Shot pattern was very tight at that range (and also the gobblers head bobbed low if you look closely...you can actually see the shot pattern in the vid).

So this is the second time I’ve watched this video. I’ve tried to find other turkey videos, but other than the THP boys all other pretty much suck. I hate to hear music throughout the video. The natural sounds of the outdoors is the best music. Keep up the great work, Dave.

@@Doug_Goin I've answered this on about every video for the past month. LoL Chubbs and I moved- me north, he south- so we are no longer neighbors which means hunting as much together isn't as convenient as it once was. That and Chubbs doesn't self film. We do hook up in Washington which you'll see in a few episodes down the road.

@@pinhotiproject Dave, I never miss a video and I haven't seen any mention of Chubbs except you mentioned once that you (and I think Sleazy) ate supper with him but he didn't come hunt with you that morning and this video you were comparing their hairlines. I guess I've missed the other mentions. All my buddies that follow you have been wondering as well. I apologize if we missed it. But whatever the reason, I hope yall can get some hunts in next spring. All your videos are excellent no matter who you are hunting with, but that Chubbs is an entertainer! Can't wait for the Washington videos!

I do. Whits and pips replace clucks and cutting for the most part for western birds.

@@pinhotiproject thanks. I mostly hunt Rios in Tx. And Easterns in Bama. Im trying to learn more calls/techniques on mouth call that are more realistic to the birds in hunting and Rios are a little different, less if any cuts

Ole boy was flat hollerin coming in pretty! Love watching a good shootout to boot! If you think turkey hunters get nervous after one miss up close the second and third shot really get you goin.That’s like in you fight in your dreams and can’t throw a punch!

Great stuff Dave per usual! Wondering why your calling seems a little different on the Rios? You seems to be doing a lot more water drop clucks. Care to explain?:)

It's a "match the hatch" type approach. In my experience, western turkeys whit and pip a lot more than your standard clucking and cutting you hear from Eastern turkeys. It has always seemed to work well for me and as you can tell, the gobblers love it.
