Totally. It's an interesting vocal to hear over this type of music. I sort of like it. I would have much rather this band kept doing stuff than to morph into korn.
Although the singer (Corey Cinque I think?) is quite obviously talented and brings his own-albeit familiar-voice to the metal scene, I feel that it didn’t quite match with the instrumentals the rest of the band was going for. Maybe I’m just saying that because, I can’t unhear the band without JD’s vocals but, I dunno; the harmonies just don’t work with the way those individual sounds intermingle. I wish I knew more on the guy, I hoped he had found another band or started one up.

KoRn aren't sellouts, they make music out of passion, yes some tracks are made as a joke like ADIDAS and K@#*%!. I'am not saying that it's the best move to change their style but Creep already sounded like Alice in Chains and it would be hard to try to become mainstream off that. They made their own branding by being the pioneer of nu-metal which made them extremely popular in their first 5 albums, also nu metal is a nice invention of a subgenre, still a bit young but it has its history. It's either they remain a shadow of Alice in Chains or literally invent something bigger that is so big, other bands doing their own thing had to copy what they where doing because it's so popular.
Creep style is an entirely different band tbh, Korn self-titled was more aggressive, had more stops, lyrics were personal. You can't compare them by just finding out "who is better sounding" because they have their own different identities, and that's subjective to the person. If you want more of this band, Alice in Chains is a band similar Creep, pre KoRn.
