This song is a literal voice for guys like me. The urge of being special & the fact of not being one. The pain of being in love & not being loved back. Being a freaking nobody. This song echoes for us! And what's wrong with this song? Why does it always leave us in tears?

I used to have really bad social anxiety and when I began getting out of my shell I went through something really difficult with my family and I isolated myself for about a year and my grades suffered aswell as my physical and mental health. This song made me feel like I wasn't alone anymore and it really helped me. Now I can happily say I barely relate to the song anymore and I feel more open and in touch with the people around to where they notice when I'm not around. No matter what you're going through or struggling with you can get through it, have faith in God, have faith in yourself and keep waking up everyday

2022 still Listening to this Masterpiece

I'm a 3 time Suicide Survivor dealing with depression and anxiety 24/7 to anyone that reads this comment please don't give up.

I remember getting absolute CHILLS when the "What the hell am I doing here?" verse came in. This song is like a liquid mixture of self-awareness and acknowledgement of hopelessness, continuously swirling until the song ends. It's like we're having a peek in the unstable mental state of someone, where the end of the song is the end for US, but not for that someone. It's incredibly poetic seriously I love this

I love this song lyrics. They are so pure. It is like when you meet someone so fine and perfect that makes you want to cry, but also live and be better just like they are. It doesn’t necessarily mean the person has perfect looks or has only good qualities, but they are like magic, a magic you can only describe as ‘perfect’. It is sad too, because you know change needs time and experience. What about the hopelessness, when you don’t even know where to start. And by the time you change enough, the person that inspired you may be completely out of reach. That is why this song is timeless. Because we all have felt such insecurities. They are what make us grow. ❤

For me it's feeling isolated, feeling like an outsider, an imposter, feeling social anxiety, feeling out of place, but also I feel it's a person desiring someone so beautiful or handsome. But they are so unobtainable. No one really has a perfect body or a perfect soul. It's like standing outside of a crowd and feeling worthless. It's a sad but cleverly written tune.

At 30+ and virgin and only growing older by the day. Yup this song is like my national anthem.

This... When I was a teen I ordered this CD by mail, had to wait and wait, seemed like an eternity, just wanted this song so badly. My mother wrote a funny poem about that. The CD came and it was the best. Apparently my mother loved it so much too that she bought the album too. 44 yrs old now but still have the poem, and came here to listen with her again, but without her now... Well im going through a very tough time and this song does relax me. Edit: 1 year later and I'm at the best I've ever been, honestly on one hand I feel nostalgic about last year tbh but on the other hand I'm just enjoying life now. And for all those guys that are going through tough times too, don't worry, everything gets much better just be patient, after all, it's the sad times that make you value the good ones.

My wife passed away suddenly a few years back. I was having a hard day and this song popped on the radio. The word weirdo sounded like widow...it hit me hard that day and it's been one of my favorite songs as it seems to talk to me and this fucked up journey I was put into.

Just imagine, two people like this meet in a room. Both feeling unwantet, unseen, just not fitting into this world. But there is this moment, they see each other. Not just looking at each other but see and they never stop seeing. They reach out and dance together. They go together for 7 beautifull years. They live their own way, finding comfort and peace and connection. That's what happend to me. ❤ But he left this world unexpected way to young. And now I have to ask myself, is it possible to find connection like this again? He was so fucking special. 😢

this is my uncles favorite song. he always jokes about how he is a weirdo and makes little digs about himself which no one really notices. i listened to the chorus to this song and i finally understand how he must feel. he has no one to talk to except my parents, still lives with his mum, broke and can’t drive. he hardly sees his daughter because her mum is horrible to him. he even said when he’s with us he does more here within a week than what he would have down with if a year at home. people are always bullying him and he is a sensitive guy but doesn’t show it. the jokes people make about him are what he actually thinks of himself. he thinks he’s a creep and he doesn’t belong. he says he’s a weirdo and doesn’t really know what he’s doing here. i think this shows how much you can tell about a person just by their favorite song

In elementary school, I was a complete loner with no friends; this is why I hate group projects because I don't know how to approach them and since, because of my lack of friends, I always end up being the last student without a group, which forces my teachers to make me join one I am not comfortable with. I remember my mother asking me why I don't bring friends into our home, and I just replied that I'm not friendly. I bagan to build an imaginary companion that follows me everywhere and consoles me on my bad days during those years of my life. I never thought it was strange because I was still a kid at the time. I was continually talking to it in my head, and I imagined it was listening. My classmate once informed me that I'm a weirdo because I'm always alone. It bothers me that I quit envisioning that imaginary acquaintance. I discovered how lonely I was in elementary school all while I started attending high school. Now I'm content because I've found some folks that like and accept me. They are few in number, but they regard me as a close friend.
