Attic Raiders Retro Reviews takes a look at the vintage board game Creeps' Castle released by Spears Games in 1990 or 1991 - a great spooky game to play at Halloween.
In this creepy action game, with similarities to the classic Ghost Castle, you must move through the haunted castle, avoiding the creeps, ghouls, ghosts and traps to reach the treasure hidden in the attic.

Thank you for doing this review! For nearly 30 years I've been trying to remember that "cool castle game" I played once as a child, it's been stuck with me ever since. Good to know it actually exists!

Damnit, all the time i get search results about Ghost Castle, and after many years i got this! wtf! This is what i was looking for and used to own it! And i remember this game also had sound effects of lightning and thunder?

i got it for christmas when the commercial was on tv and that was somewhere between dec 92-94

This came out in 1990. I got it brand new for either my birthday or Christmas. I still have it somewhere, but someone stole the steel ball when I was a kid.

Sorry, just did the math and it was 1993. It was released in 1980 as De Bibberburcht (Dutch), then in 1991 as Poltergeist (German) then finally in 1993 as Creeps' Castle. My copy is still in its box and the box is in fairly good condition considering its age. I think it's at my parent's house.

@@AtticRaidersRetroReviews no worries. Could I ask you what size the steel ball is? One of the neighbourhood kids stole mine and I've been trying to find a replacement so that my kids can enjoy the game for the last 5 years. I keep finding ones that are either too small or too big though. I spoke to a mate recently who said he can get any size I need so the size would be great if you're able and/or willing to measure it for me? All good if you can't be bothered 🤘

Great review ! Ik found this game the other day in a thrift store , my heart jumped when i saw it sitting on a shelf like a treasure chest. The box was a bit damaged but when i opend the box and i found it complete and the Castle itself in great condition i was so happy like a young child haha . It is a really simpele roll and luck based game ,but i love it for what it is , and i am happy i have it in my collection.

Great review! Brought back a lot brought memories 😊 just remembered this game randomly and decided to go looking for it, took a while to get the name lol me and my brothers always played it as children my parents said it was def bought around 1990 🤔 have been looking everywhere for it as I think my kids would love this too! Hard to find anywhere though. Anyone else get their hands on one?

Glad you liked it - trying to get as many forgotten games onto RU-vid as possible is the goal to help out with half remembered experiences. :) Not easy to find, but they are around - one just sold on the 16th of January on eBay UK and I know that I've seen it for sale on one of the toy groups (can't remember which one though!) that I'm on within the past 2 weeks.

@@melepke Ah, very possibly - we've always played it that the chest is a seperate space from the floor, even if there isn't a dividing line printed there. :)
