Not very believable. 31:35 Actually the families didn´t just sit there and waited for the search to be reopened. They looked for The Boys up there every single day, when possible. 37:45 There were no snow clothing in the USFS trailer. Not one. Food and heat, yes. 45:00 Gary Mathias´ status in the case file is such of a "victim". Worth mentioning this when it comes to the "Gary did it" theories. 52:20 Gary was the only one who smoked, and sure thing you don´t smoke in Doc Madruga´s car. No way. 59:47 Gary was taking his medication consistently at the time of the facts. No "reports" can prevail over his medical history (including the prescriptions receipts) which Yuba County Sheriff Office looked over very closely. 01:11:30 The actual distance between Roger´s Cow Camp (Montego) and the USFS trailer was around 11 miles by walking, not 19. 01:12:00 The USFS trailer was the only site with supplies and shelter on a 8-mile radius. 01:13:30 Ted Weiher cause of death was pulmonary edema due to hypothermia and exposure. I strongly recommend giving a read to the last known entry in the case file, dated Nov. 15th, 2019 and signed by the current Sheriff of Yuba County, Mr. Wendell Anderson.

listening to this story gave me goosebumps. Learning that the boys had disabilities like I do made it all the more sad and feeling bad for them and what possibly could have happened to them. At the same there’s still some things about the story that don’t make any sense Why didn’t they eat anything? Why didn’t turn on the heating? Why didn’t they try to make it back to the car?! It’s theses kinds of stories that get me thinking 💭

I usually listen on Amazon but came here to discuss lol. The guy said he saw two set of head lights so what if the men were getting flagged down and they pulled over and the driver from the other car gets out to come talk to them. (That could explain why the window was down)

The audio was different, but not bad. Glad you two covered this one. It’s one of those cases that seems like it’s and open and shut case, but then at the same time leaves you second guessing.

did they eat gary? like did gary declare the resources as sinister, and then he died accidently and they were so hungry...?

The final theory you ended up with is exactly what I thought! I kept yelling “he opened the window because someone must have gotten out of the car!” I also wonder if, in their altered state, because they were cold and hungry and also some of them not so great with common sense, if they didn’t eat or use anything from the trailer because they thought that it would be considered stealing?? I just have a feeling that there wasn’t anything nefarious going on, it was just an extremely unfortunate misunderstanding.
