The worst part is that in most "you have no more continues" screens, you just see a screen and that's it. But in this game YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO CONTROL ROLO AND MAKE HIM GET IN THE CAGE

Jeez, that normal ending is worse than the bad ending in my opinion... Rolo doesn't look too concerned with being trapped in a cage, but being guilt tripped for not rescuing everyone and never being able to be happy again? That's some dark shit. And why does the ringmaster need an elephant anyway, considering all the magic he can apparently do?

Eh, I think you're reading too much into the "Good Ending." It's clear he just became Babar, King of the Elephants.

2:15 what I can really appreciate in this song is that it uses the 4th and 5th chords to sound like it’s waiting on you, and then it turns to a minor key when you have no continues left to sound sadder.

I have a weirdly depressing theory. So, the first ending shows how Rolo got to his mom without saving his friends, and him not truly being happy. The second ending shows that Rolo grew up and had a kid, right? He told his story of the evil circus. Now looking back at ending one. Is it possible that Rolo, never truly being happy, maybe comitted suicide and thats why he didn't grow up to tell the story, in the second ending?

I don't know if it's just me, but the Continue Screen for this game really reminds me of the one from the original _Rayman_ (1995) on the PS1 -- where you've got the dark, depressing Mr Dark-themed iconography and graffiti on the left-hand side that Rayman walks towards if he runs out of lives (and ultimately dies at if he does run out of Continues), sort of like how here, you've got no choice but to walk into the Ringmaster's cage to end the game when the same thing happens.

Woah, that game over screen was so damn depressing, I don't even know that damn elephant, but I still prefer that he's happy after conquisting the world over him entering to the cage with that music on

I'm sure glad I didn't see that bad ending when I was a kid, probably would have scarred me life seeing that screen. Luckily never beaten the game though :p

I'm glad that i played this game at my twenties. If i finished it as a kid, i don't know how much the bad ending would have traumatized me. (probably it wouldn't because i didn't learn english yet back then). And the good ending is good, please don't overthink it. Btw, if you're wondering David Attemborough is the lead programmer of the game

i think the real twist that makes the best ending sad is that "the time that Rolo met David Attenborough" is clearly for some kind of nature documentary. in the end Rolo can't escape his body being put on display for the amusement of others, whether it is performance or film.

I'm not sure Rolo overthrowing humanity is necessarily a bad thing. I mean, you saw that ringmaster? Shooting lasers from his palms? Hard to believe that Creepy Bad Endings has had 57 installments thus far.. as far as a font goes, Impact is pretty decent in terms of thickness and overall legibility, but the spacing is a bit annoying. I'd suggest just using bold on a different sans-serif font - my personal favorite is just "Microsoft Sans Serif" - shown here: ttfonts.net/modules/waterfall.php?font=26205_MSReferenceSansSerifBold.ttf Alternatively you could just add everything as Closed Captions to let people choose their own font settings, but I can see how that'd be a pain and risk breaking everything.

Oh, hey, it's this game! I've never seen the original game before- I've only known it from a Russian bootleg that changes the character into that Owen Wilson deer from Open Season. Man, that is a delightfully bleak ending if the game isn't 100% completed.

Game Over Ending: Trapped w/o reaching mother and the animals. Bad Ending: Reached mother w/o rescuing all animals. Good Ending: Reached mother with all animals rescued. The “ending” scheme is similar to Undertale’s. The game over ending represents genocide. The bad ending represent neutral and the good ending represents pacifist. In the game over ending you have COMPLETELY failed to save everyone and reach your mother. In genocide, you have COMPLETELY wiped out an entire race of monsters. In the bad ending, you have reached your mother and have freed some of the animals but not all of them. In neutral, you have killed some monsters but not all of them. In the good ending, you have reached your mother and have freed ALL the animals. In pacifist, you have spared all the monsters and are now living in the surface. Seems pretty connected to me.

The sound effects and music are awful, even as someone who enjoyed the soothing tones of Sonic Spinball's screaming tesla coils, that's a bit too much.
