Just when you thought Creepy Bad Endings 66 would remain the longest episode in the series, along comes Corpse Party, with the biggest video ever uploaded to my channel so far.
Be warned: This game covers many EXTREMELY dark themes.
Bad endings. I don't know about anyone else, but they terrify me. Just when the hero(es) thought everything was finally right, just when it looked like peace had finally returned to the world, something happens that, at best, creates a bittersweet victory and, at worst, spoils everything and the enemies win, despite everything that happened throughout your adventure. Bad endings don't give you any second chances, you screwed things up for everyone and you must pay dearly...

@Jotaro97 Because in the same game three other girls, who are all one year younger than Yuka is supposed to be, are featured in an extra chapter. They look and act 13. In Corpse Party: Book of Shadows Ayumi and Yoshiki meet Nana, one of the girls. They both remark on the fact that she looks and acts more normal compared to Yuka.

The one from the cartoons. The Japanese voice actress for Sachiko is the same one who makes the cutesy sounds for Pikachu. ....and I just realized how dumb that sounded, as of course she's a Japanese voice actress, since Corpse Party doesn't have an English option. 😅 Pardon my stupidity. Lol

@Lindsay Fikes This game is a sort of reboot from an old PC game where only 5 schoolboys were playable, and they are exactly the ones who survive here. All the other cast members (among those who perform the ritual at the beginning) are added in this version of the game...and they all end up dying. FUN FACT: I just discovered all of this like 1 hour ago on TVTropes.

What’s worse is that in yuka’s death, it’s straight to the point, like in any other characters death, it’s usually some detail behind it. “You died and your friend killed you” with some added text and flashbacks or whatever but for her it’s just “you’ve been stabbed in the eye, it hurts. It hurts and there’s nothing you can do about it until you die”

@Quadsword you should check out 999 if you like that. Not nearly as many deaths in that game, but what's there is described in an immense amount of detail. It's also known for its descriptions of corpses you see in the game, though no images are provided.

It's interesting how each "Wrong End" screen except for the false non-death ending has a finger missing from the bloody handprint. It definitely brings to mind Japan's views on people who have only 4 fingers and connects it with the number 4 being viewed as death in Japan.

I honestly hated that ending, not even because I found it disturbing (and I have super bad claustrophobia so it should have had a big impact on me). But because I was shit at that part of the game and kept getting caught by the ghost, and that wrong end dragged on forever

If they did perform the ritual and mess up in anyway (By miscounting or whatsoever) they would still be spirited away, the only way this is avoidable is to not start the ritual at all

I found it a little hard to feel sorry for Ayumi in the bad ending she is most prominent in causing. She charges straight back into the dark world only to get overcome by a fit of jealousy that ends in her sabotaging the very rescue operation she was so eager to conduct. That bad ending was instant karma, and the inappropriately cheery piano music playing over everything as her plan falls apart in front of her was the icing on a very dark chocolate cake.

TBH it felt out of character to me. The only reason I can come up for that 180 flip is that it may be related to her odd behavior in chapter 2. Still weird. Edit: She was probably possessed or driven insane by... whatever supernatural effects the haunted school has on its victims, as we've seen with a lot of other characters, so I aint gonna blame her for what she did.

*SPOILER* Book of Shadows follows directly off of the groundhog day ending and pretty much anything Satoshi did would have ended in failure. Can't avoid stage 1, at least not for horror games, anyway. No ritual, no game.

Say what you want about Morishige's character, but his voice actor did an AMAZING job in chapter 5. The best screams in the entire game, in my opinion. (As opposed to the PC version of this game, where the same voiced lines were unarguably the worst.)

The Corpse Party’s series endings are something alright. What’s worse is they’re technically all canon. And some are longer or shorter or harder to get. A lot of them have no visuals just graphic text details of what’s happening and some top tier voice acting. And the better endings aren’t that great. They’re mostly equally bad but I’m curious what anyone’s thoughts on some of the worst or how they first came across them are.I appreciate this video covering them in detail and Creepy Bad Endings is one of my favourite series of yours. Someone made a playlist of them all, I’ve seen them multiple times and reacted to by Let’s players and streamers, they’re a very iconic part of the franchise in both good and bad ways.

To be honest the ones that are a bit of a slow burn and get progressively worse like the one in Chapter 5 where Ayumi goes insanea and burns Naomi's ID with the paper scrap, also the Wrong ends from the branch in chapter 2 of Book of Shadows where you don't go down the hole so they try to get across a gap and everything slowly gets worse. All the wrong ends are creepy because of the incredible audio design, visuals that aren't gory enough to be exaggerated and leave a lot to the imagination and the voice acting, but for some reason these ones give me such a sense of dread.

I was going to ask how all of the endings are technically canon. Then I remembered Sachiko is a psychotic little demon brat with a demonic school that shape shifts and every time there's a loop, things get worse for a person who died there, so....just answered myself. SPOILERS Edit 2: The "It was a dream" ending could have been circumvented if Satoshi told them the right sentence to say, now that I think about it

honestly, i was not expecting a story that good when watching it. also, i agree absolutely on jumpscare thing, when a game relies on jumpscares, i can't really call it creepy, as it's more a bunch of shocking, occasionally creepy things, as opposed to a good story that's made to be scary. The best horror stories are ones that rely as little on jumpscares as possible. it does so many things well. The closest thing to a happy ending (dream ending) being ripped away from you at the last second, the relief whenever you see "Wrong End" confirming that what you just saw was because of your bad decisions and you can continue the story without it, the actual ending itself... it's all handled perfectly.

Sachiko is an _evil_ little girl. It does answer some questions about what happened to certain characters, what led to their circumstances. But, uh... yeah, they upped the ante a bit.

When Satoshi was caught in that time loop and started everything over from the beginning, why didn't he just destroy the paper doll before they do the ritual? Sure they'd think he was an asshole, but they'd all still be alive, which is an even better result than the true ending.

Man, I remember watching that Ace Attorney video and thinking "Git really outdid himself, he'd never post a video that long ever" and finding out that he posted a CBE video about that weird room puzzle game which took 2 and a quarter hours to watch. Even Git stated that the possibility of him posting a long video like that again is slim to none... ...but the moment I saw CBE Corpse Party on my notifications, I was sure that'd be a new record. *My man raised his bar past 3 and a half hours.* I'm leaving this comment here because I'll watch this one as a reward of completing my finals this week. wish me luck

The 3DS version has more chapters + more bad endings then the PSP original plus the translation is much more faithful in that one too but you could always return back to this in a bonus video if you ever feel like it.

There's only one additional bad ending in the 3DS version. Long story short, Chapter 1 has its Victim's Memoir about a declaration of love that goes from Shakespeare to all caps vulgarity that's partially censored which makes Seiko lose her sanity and Naomi is subjected to seeing her friend laugh insanely and saying "You poor girl" over and over for the rest of their days here.

The ending where only Satoshi remembers what happened is literally objectively the best one. Or rather, it would be if he wasn't a damn pushover and just tore up the doll before they could've even started chanting. It's so annoying, because he could've stopped everyone from doing it in so many different ways, including telling them what happened ahead of time (He'd know Ayumi's prank ahead of time, giving him more believability, plus all of the grotesque detail he would be able to recall), but noooooo, instead he's just "stuck in a loop"

Yeah the point of that ending is to imply that it is inevitable he and his friends will go to Heavenly Host. It is an inescapable abduction. Even if Satoshi retains his memories, it is too late. He is destined to go to this school and die.

2:49:00 This is when that Extra End in Chapter 4 happens. The part where Ms. Yui is trapped in rubble happens after she falls off the collapsing floor, where parts of it crushed her body. I have absolutely no idea why the heck this ending is in Chapter 4 or why it requires you to essentially kill off Naomi in order to get it. Honestly, I think it should have been part of it's own separate Extra Chapter instead.

CBEs of visual novels always end up being the longest videos, and for good reason. I'll get back once I've finished watching this video. Edit: Stayed up all night to watch this one, and man, this was an experience. Corpse Party gives me Zero Escape: 999 vibes, as they share a lot of similarities to each other, but Corpse Party goes a lot harder than Zero Escape: 999 with its graphic content, dark themes, and overall atmosphere. It's a VN that I won’t forget anytime soon, that's for sure.

The one I remember explicitly saying that things in the script were pretty fucked was Fukuroi's VA. He recounted a story of him going to a cafe to look over the script and that the patrons were staring at him because he said he must have had some very extreme reactions to the content in the script if people were staring.

Fact. Yuka ending was taken from Original 1996 Corpse party. if someone wonder what'll happen to satoshi? He was killed by yuka. the dead will jealous of the lived one. so they'll go to their most loved one, and kill them so that they'll live together afterlife.(Now you understand, Why Naomi kill seiko. and ayumi kill satoshi when they got darkening.) Another ending that taken from 1996 corpse party is science lab. but you can do so much more rather than get caught or pick up the key and leave the room. once ayumi get caught by anatomical model. you can make yoshiki escape the room and leave ayumi to die. as if yoshiki got covered by fear. Rules number one. Dont Fall in love........
