Dan: "We all gotta die, sometime." Will: "Are you gonna to kill me tonight, Dan?" Dan: "...Put your camera down." Will: ~Laughs~ Legend has it, Will was never seen or heard of ever again.
Bro, this is a video about an abandoned and vandalized building where all manner of disgusting and abhorrent things have probably happened since the building was closed. The Chillhop/ASMR/Background noise for sleep videos are the opposite way from here.
Man if only forest haven had less graffiti it would be so much more "creepy". Still an amazing place, love exploring old places and seeing and hearing things i havent heard in a while, like the rotary phone. Such a satisfying noise haha. Awesome video Dan!
It's 7 in the morning here and I see this pop up off to a great start in fixing my sleeping schedule lol. Dan you feed my addiction for my love for abandoned asylums thank you sir.
UPDATE: This video was posted in 2017 and it's amazing how vandalized this place has been since then! The graffiti now is unbelievable. BUT the purpose of this post. The popular parking area at the restaurant on the highway is now blocked off to parking. They have wooden posts in cement with chains blocking the entrances. The also have a new NO PARKING-NO TRESPASSING sign posted! DO NOT PARK THERE ANYMORE! The car shop next to that is usually so packed with cars you can't park there either. That leaves the EZ Storage on the other side of the parking lot. It won't be long before they put signs up also. Be careful where you park! Make sure there are no signs about illegal parking. Coming back to your car in the middle of the night and finding it gone is no fun!! Be safe and cautious out there.
The crunch of the snow under your feet, the same for the debris inside, the falling rain, the sound of the train ,those views to the outside. All add up to the ambiance you felt and shared!
Candy Santillo The creepy part is that the operating train tracks are miles away. There are tracks that are closer, but haven't been used for 40 maybe 50 years. The low clouds could be insulating and carrying the train sounds. I don't think so. I'm the same distance from the tracks in the another direction. I can't hear the train. A ghost train sounds more romantic
Erin Smith, was I mistaken perhaps or could you hear it too? Thank you for the comment and interesting if eerie information.your info kinda stopped me in my tracks.
I heard it, too. I was wracking my brain because the closest train is definitely miles away. Freight trains use that track. I just can't imagine that the train horn could be heard from that far away. Although there probably is some scientific explanation
It's a shame because it seems like everyone who trapezes through these spots now has to treat them like a youtube comment section. "OMG, everyone must know I was here while I ruin the history!"
People have been marking up places since they robbed the Pharaohs' Tombs. Name and date normally or "so and so was here" kinda stuff. The Romans added the "penis" graffiti to the repertoire and I'd be willing to bet pentagrams and "satan" tags started after the 60s and just say that one is Allister Crowley's fault. But you are totaly right that it is a shame that people explore a place and their first thought is to "leave their mark"
something about forest haven makes me always want to go back, been once since it's been in my dreams constantly, i have this urge to go back it's like something is tied to me there, it's very strange
So last summer I went over to Forest Haven and I've been there many times before. However when I went last time I heard eerie groans then a door slammed so I got tf out
14:46 ok this might just be me but there was a mans voice saying something like "he's dead" I thought it was will but the tone sounds so much different am I going crazy
What a great afternoon surprise. Glad you shared this w/us, Dan : ) It's like a little "hold me over" while awaiting my next fix of "Another Dirty Room"! It's fabulous. Also got to see the video of you giving that speech recently at that seminar type gathering. You were great! It's nice to see that your hard work and dedication is paying off, and gaining the attn. it deserves. Be sure to let us know any updates regarding The Sun's favorite Instagram : )
I was at work and had to wait All day for this. Thanks for reminding me that this sort of thing is what got me hooked in the first place. You go where and when I wouldnt dare go. That place was so creepy, I got the shivers a few times.
+Anthony Rupe Forest Haven was a literal hell on earth. Patients living in absolute misery. Reading about what occurred there will make anyone shudder. Just horrific.
@2:35 those cribs they kept babies in until age 6......and they let a doctor whos medical liscence was suspended continue to work there? Wtf? Pennhurst state school in PA, WILLOWBROOK in Staten Island,& others all had same complaints of rampant sexual, physical abuse. Sad. And these places have a very dark energy my aunt worked in one& said under no conditions would she go to one abandoned... shes got many stories..
DAMN YOU!! This post is NOT directed to Dan Bell. We went to FH recently and halfway through the woods we heard teenage girls laughing, whooping it up and talking very loud! DAMN YOU! It's people like you that make it tough for the serious explorers to visit these places! If we heard you in the woods don't you think the security staff could also hear you? We never did find you but we kept hearing your voices. So we really couldn't enjoy this visit because we were nervous about security coming and looking for YOUR loudmouths! The rule when visiting these places is to be QUIET, don't vandalize and be safe! This is Federal land and when you are here you are trespassing! Subject to arrest and fines! Because of recent arson at this place the security is more active but if have stealth and use common sense you can go through this place without being caught. We had a map with all the building on it. We avoided the building next to the high security juvenile facility. The one thing working in our favor is the entire place is over grown with weeds, bushes and trees. But PLEASE, don't bring alcohol, guns, drugs or spray paint! Use common sense and don't ruin it for the rest of us! Rant over. Be safe out there!
@@lukebausum3135 Lol's! Don't bring knives or bayonets! Seriously, there is a video out there showing 4 guys walking through Forest Haven with rifles!! What the Hell for! So I wasn't kidding when I said don't bring guns!
i never knew you had a 2nd channel. this is great because i love to study your videos to help me make my videos better myself. your videos are really entertaining to watch
Aw man, that was the storm that stretched from Canada to South Carolina and dumped two fucking feet of snow on me in Upstate NY! I remember being awake and watching the Facebook LIVE broadcast from this place.
Try out ASMR videos. It appears even Dan has recently made an ASMR video too so check them out. All I can say is ASMR gives you tingles and relaxes you so much.
Times like this I expect you to come across some squatters or drug addicts inside. I wonder how many have scooted out as they hear you coming in...or just quietly watched you in the dark!
I'm glad Dan could explore the depths of my home town. Don't let this be your first impression of Laurel... it's quiet, but you'll always have something to do.
oh creepy hallways, i have missed you!! great video Dan! are you going to put up pics of the meat factory in your shop? or some of these great hallway shots? i think the creepiest shot was that lone chair on the sidewalk outside. Great catch!! the morgue shots were fantastic!!
Hey Dan, got a question for you and I'm sure it's already been asked and answered before, but how come Rick never comes along on your adventures to abandoned places?
This my jam sense 1996 1997 1998 We went to this first building , the last time we went Scary evening , we ran outta there so fast on that faithful hot summer evening in 1998
