In this video I planned to backpack and climb my 9th 14er Crestone peak via the Cottonwood Creek trail. It ended up being a perfect day giving me ample time for a late summit and a full return to the car making this just a day hike with extra weight.
This video is an overview as detailed as I could make of the cottonwood Creek trail. This was my first time on the cottonwood trail so this was more of a review than a guide for the trail. The whole route, past 3.5 miles is advanced hiking and scrambling. Please only attempt this route if you have lots of time in the wilderness under your belt, you have experience and are confident on class three terrain, and you are of a high fitness level.
