I enjoyed your video very much. I have been on holiday twice, a long time ago, though. I live in Scotland so it was a long journey. But I loved being there on holiday. It has changed a little, more houses, cafes and restaurants.i remember having a meal one night , the waiters all ran to the beach with torches, squid had landed on the beach. That certainly was a bit of excitement. We used to go every night and sit under the tamarisk (I think) tree, with our feet on the sand at the Olympia cafe, the loveliest husband and wife were so welcoming and friendly, loved it. Happy memories, thank you.❤
Thank you for showing so well the place that I am privilege to live. There is no exaggeration, it is really as good as you see. I a not Greek and found Makri Gialos by accident. Best thing I ever did. I now live in Stavrohori, a village above Makri Gialos.
Just LOVE LOVE LOVE Makrigialos! We have enjoyed over 30 holidays there now & it has never been spoiled by tourism! A very popular village with visitors from many countries, who all receive a very warm welcome from all of the residents there! :)
You are the man with too much positive energi 👍🙏 Like all of your posts/videos 😊 Nice & easy. Love Crete & hope vi can come to Crete in 2022 ❤ Specially Hersonissos ❤
My second home and where my heart is! The final beach you showed was called Kalamokanias and is in fact quite deep and not shallow at all! Also more pebbly than the main beach.
Would have liked to see more of Kalamokanias Beach which is nicer than the main beach. But you seem to have skipped past that to show us some supermarkets.
I loved this video Zameer. I have wanted to visit there for a long time now, and it's more beautiful than I realised. The view across the bay is fantastic and reminded me of Plakias. The port area reminded me of Kalyves. I really want to visit Makri Gialos, but April or May only, when it is quiet and not many people!! I just need some money!! It was interesting to learn a bit more about how you live and to learn that you used to have a restaurant. Life is very different for you now. Take care.
If you want tips regarding camping. I recomend to visit the Diaskari Beach, and from there either walk to the next beach - Lagada, wich is also the next village. At the far end of this beach, it is a nudist beach (no clothes). And it is allowed to camp all the way down the beach. When you are exiting the harbour of Makry Gialos, you are at the oldest part of the village. And walking to the house you like to rent, at around 50:30 into the clip are the beach of Kalamoukania, connecting Makry Gialos and Koutsouras. At 52:45 its the accountant office (λογιστής), not dentist. And after - the old bakery (Arto). 54:25 Yes. It is a small Pet shop, and yes, it has food and items for pets. 55:40 is one of the 3 Real Estate agencys in the village. This one (Real) you can contact Nicoleta or Lydia if interested in property.
Hmm 🤔 that's a good question I will buy a place up in the mountains close to the Sea not too far from the city also not too close to the city 😅 Go ahead and buy a place wherever in Crete and you are going to like it, still take your time do some research.
Well you can't stay there for 300 euros per night because it's a private accommodation -- you should have carried on down the hill to Asteria Studios where you could stay for 45 euros per night.
