Also if you like the look of the Silvia more, check out the Ascaso Steel Uno. It’s virtually the same machine as the Dream PID but different aesthetic.
I have the Rancilio Silvia and it's about three years old (not from SCG). The black powder coated frame is rusting badly and I wouldn't recommend the machine now. I've seen other reports of this on forums too. Also single boiler machines are slow to switch between brew and steam temperatures.
Mine (Dedica) throws about 10-15gr of water after steaming 110gr of milk. Its a modified steam wand, but I don't think it'd make much different than the original.
Lawton Wilson Why? Just visit the link in the description. If she mentions price, someone will watch the video a year later, the price might be different, then there will be an issue.
TimboCanada couple of reasons. the steam out put wasnt great, meaning it startrd sttong but quickly got weak it plenty gor one latte buy if u want to steam 2 lattes back to back ypur gonna have to wait. thats was my biggest nuance. thr second, it was real.picky with the grind u had to get it just right right even with my baratza vario. third the price. i had a ec155 that omce i coverted into a none pressurized pprtafilter it made a very very similar shot and could make one latte and still.have to wait for the second like on the silvia. personally i would buy thr gaggia classic over this or if i wanted to spend a lil more i would get an expobar for a lil more.than than the silvia u have a full.blpen prosumer.machine that can make lattes bavk to back..
Oh heh, Engineer here, it's not Pid... It's "Pee", "Eye", "Dee"... stands for Proportional, integral and Derivative control. It's how the controller responds to the temperature measured.
Dave Lattner I remember my first engineering prereq too. People say “pid” for short/slang. She purchases and installs these units, I’m positive she knows what it does and what it stands for. You’d know that if you were a professional engineer
