More companies should be like them. This is amazing to see this company actually INCLUDE their employees. Their employees happiest is the biggest impact to its customers. The fact the executives built something they “thought would work” and it didn’t is a great example how out of touch executives can be. The fact they brought in 1,000 employees to design their living spaces and then built it life size for them to try speaks volumes. I’m shocked and impressed. Showing that you actually care a little bit for your employees makes me want to book them over another brand.
@@TheOvenCook pretty sure "like" is meaning "similar in aspect" and not to steal an exact replica of their room designs. they're telling other companies to show they actually care for their crew, not for other companies to use their patented crew room designs. you're manipulating what they said to make a false point for who knows why

Problem is they did a sh@t job. Those rooms are horrible, who wants to stick their feet or head in a cubby every single night ? May have more storage but at the end of the day when you share a room with someone in a closet you don’t get privacy no matter what the layout it.
It’s about time. The crew deserve to have a nice space for them to just chill and relax they work ever so hard on the ship to serve us the passengers, they deserve to have something nice for them to as well not like dingy and depressing. This is more upbeat feeling happy and not only that but it’s more up-to-date and it kind of feels like you’re upstairs where the passengers are but more for them and that so they deserve this whole entire new look for them to just whine down and relax, and just have that me time and just to chill with their friends

I love that they’re getting the crew involved with the design and asking them what THEY want, especially when it comes to the crew cabins. Although, as a former crew member (from a different cruise line), I don’t see where there would be time to enjoy the other beautiful spaces, like the gaming lounge, etc. Even when I did have a few scare hours to “relax” I was so exhausted I didn’t want to do anything but sleep! Working every single day for 6+ months is exhausting and crew rarely get time to relax. That being said, with the innovation of these beautiful spaces will hopefully come a new innovation for crew member work/life balance as well. It’s so nice that crew are finally being heard! Yay for RCI for listening and going the extra mile to make their crew comfortable and happy 😊
The recent troubles have ravaged the industry. I'm glad it has bounced back with such an Icon. PS. The ship was built in here Finland. Our work-culture is all about helping and truly encouraging the employees do their best at their profession
Just went on my first cruise ever with any cruise line June 3rd-9th on the Mariner of the Seas and let me tell you it's a blast. Coco Cay is amazing as well. Pack plenty of sun screen !
Wish someone would have told me about working on these ships when I was living down there at 20 years old waiting tables in Tampa. Would have been a great experience. Not as great as today, this looks wild, but still.
As a crew member, one thing i would like is more privacy. The best roommate is the one you don't have. If they made the cabins half the size it is, but for only one person. I wouldn't mind sharing a bathroom with the adjacent cabin. As long as i have my own quiet space.
Hope Made from the Mariner gets to work on the Icon. He's the best bartender Royal has in the fleet. He deserves it if he wants it. No we're not related lol
