Their were 5 teams searching for a captain Kieron Pollard is an experienced campaigner with serious captain qualities , no one has an ability better than Pollard down the order and also offers 1-2 overs with the ball, a total Bank he could have easily been the guy after which every team runs and still he chose to stay with mi for 6cr absolute still.

Look at Bumrah and SKY ....Bumrah could've easily be the highest bid in the auction crossing 17 or 18cr ...and SKY could've easily gone for 10cr+ but they choose not to ...that's what a franchise with a better management and good treatment towards players does to a player.

@@sharmasharma4568 hardik can replace sky but at this moment hardik won't settle for anything less than 11 crore as he is getting that much already from mi and if he was going to get retained by MI he would have got approx 8 crore as he would have been the 3rd retention after hitman and boom and surya can play both ways he can be as aggressive as hardik and can play as an anchor when time needs that... So because of these factor I think SKY was better for MI.

The difference between Hyderabad and Chennai shows in their treatment of player when team is doing poorly. CSK in 2020 was the bottom most team almost 80% of the season. Then in 2021 they bought Moeen Ali, Watson retired thus giving them a permanent openers. And look at the result. It's not how you treat your players in highs but how you treat them in their lows.
In SRH's case something has happened behind the scenes which no one knows. Otherwise they aren't such a foolish franchise to let players like Warner and Rashid go so easily. There has clearly been a spat between Warner and some of the coaching staff. While in Rashid's case Rashid thinks he can fetch more and hence decided not to be retained and SRH has respected his decision, which is sensible thing to do. And coming to backing players SRH has been backing players like Pandey, Shankar for the past few seasons even when they were in terrible form. So it isn't about SRH not knowing how to back players, it's maybe the case of too many cooks spoiling the broth for SRH

DC would be very eager to have a shubman gill or devdutt padikkal in their side to make them pair up with P shaw. RCB needs proven captain some one overshades huge Virat unlike just paper captain. No current Indian player is bigger than Virat, So RCB should be looking for either Morgan or Warner ? I don't see any other is having potential other than these 2. Any suggestions?
I think Shreyas Iyer could be a choice given he doesn't go to the new franchise, but I also think RCB needs a foreign captain, a leader of its own.. to gain a new perspective and lead RCB to a new light.. We have Mike Hesson so we don't have to worry a lot. Plus, I don't want Maxwell to be the captain and I think he won't captain as well. So no worries there.... RCB fighting!
@@samjsl2199 the problem with Shreyas Iyer for RCB is he plays more of an anchor role and RCB plays most matches in chinnaswamy stadium and Kohli currently plays slow in the middle overs as well and Kohli, Iyer and Maxwell play at 3 amd 4

As a KKR fan, I don't want KKR to buy back Morgan and Gill. One has never performed well in IPL and the other one plays t20 with a strike rate of ODI. And though Morgan is a great captain but he is a burden as a player. And I don't believe anyone else can't captain KKR well. Even if Morgan is better captain than the new captain, then also the new captain along with performance can surpass Morgan's contribution only as a captain. KKR should try to buy Warner, Faf, Rahul or Dhawan as a opener. All of them are good captainship options. Or KKR can target Shreyas Iyer too (another captainship option) and make Rana/Tripathi a opener(KKR should buy at least one of them back).
Depends on the price for which they will get Morgan. He could play the same role as MSD. Both captained well . Plus Morgan may do well in Indian pitches.
All your options depend on whether the 2 new teams buy Iyer , Warner or KL which will most probably happen & I don't think Faf is a captaincy material plus he's 37 already & he will be 38 by the time IPL starts you must look for a young captain for the longer run..plus you get the best out of Faf if he's let alone as a player

Funny how some think Williamson will go for very less if went for auction. He’s a captaincy material who plays a crucial role in most 130-160 scores games. He has the ability to play per situation in high scoring games too. With great demeanor and temperament, he’s an automatic choice to be a leader of a franchise. Pretty sure CSK would’ve gone for him if he’s available and even RCB too. Wouldn’t be surprised if he fetched 15-16cr in auctions. It’s unfair to limit Williamson just to his strike rate in T20s as he’s more than that.
What teams probably looking at overseas players in auction 1. Hard hitting opener 2. Fast bowling allrounder 3. Finisher 4. Pace bowlers. Stokes fetch big contract because of his allrounder skills Glenn Maxwell got same still he failed before ipl 2021 Archer he just bbl before picked by rr Jhye richardson ,pat Cummins. But at least 2-3 will be in a bidding war and I precisely mean CSK because they see him as the best alternative for Dhoni and that too under Fleming. Also knowing how well Virat & KW go with each other, RCB too might’ve paid big buck for a captaincy role. SRH probably knows his market value which is why they retained him at 14cr which isn’t surprising.
