Happy Easter !
Sunday 31st March 2024
A day out to the National Tramway Museum at Crich in the Derbyshire Peak District. I hadn't been here since 1997, so a return visit was long overdue.
There were four trams running:
Glasgow No 22 (1922)
Blackpool No 40 (1926)
Blackpool No 236 (1934)
Sheffield No 510 (1950)
This first video shows the four running at various locations along the route.
I have to add here, the weather was pretty much what one would expect from Easter Sunday - cold, grey, windy (although, thankfully, it didn't rain or snow). all filming was done on my DSLR, so none of the fancy technology available to me on my camcorder (is it still called 'camcorder' ?)...so there is a fair amount of wind/background noise....
Part 2 will arrive shortly.......

Good to see my favourite tramways trams still running but on heritage soil. Huge fan of the Blackpool fleet, seeing standard car 40 with two cars in the heritage fleet still in Blackpool 147 having major overhaul but her bogies are not and put under 143 same livery as 40 but if in Blackpool be 140 but omg 😢 607 former travel card livery she was thought she went with 605+606 to San Francisco I got that wrong. 3 of her sisters still travel along the prom when they can 600 Duchess of Cornwall 227 (602) Charlie caroli the famous clown of the tower in same livery red and cream BC as 40 and 604 George formby OBE
