Join us as we take you to Crick Boat Show 2023, the biggest inland waterway event in it's 23rd year. Held in Northamptonshire, organised by Waterways World in association with Canal and River Trust and Crick Waterside and Marina.
We take you on a tour of a wide beam, historic narrowboat and an alternative living space that floats on water.
Walk round the stalls with us, meet some Vloggers that have inspired us with our move on to the water, listen to some live music from the beer tent, have a look at some shiny new boat engines and hear the silence of the propulsion systems.
Ernie faces his own challenges this week as he deals with huge crowds and lots of dogs but we are so proud of him and how well he coped. Despite the blisters on Liz's hands from all his pulling!
With over 300 exhibitors, Paul still manages to sniff out the Midland Chandlers stall and we do some window shopping (quite literally) as we hope to replace a few of our narrowboat windows.
A special thank you to everyone that said hello to us, gave Ernie gifts and for the coffees bought with a special thank you to Vicky for taking the time to give Paul a detailed boat tour. We are lost for words and really taken aback by everyone's kindness and positive comments.
We had such a lovely time at the festival, enjoying ice cream by the canal, with the sunshine beaming down on us.
Once that sun sets however, the show kicks into a music festival with tribute acts such as Dr Feelgood, now one of the most popular rhythm and blues acts in the world and 'Mercury' The ultimate Queen tribute band. There were actually a total of 15 acts during the show's weekend offering a wide variety of live music in 'The Real Ale Bar'
Unfortunately we didn't get to stay for the spotlight ones as we thought it would have been a bit too much for Ernie. Maybe next year (fingers crossed)
