After watching explanation videos of this sport and the video game I still don’t get it Batter hits the ball - then just stands there Batter hits the ball, they both run across (they get 4 points) Batter hits the ball again, they run across (they get 2 points) Where are the strike outs? The bowler / pitcher seems like he’s pitching forever When is the game actually over???? I’m confused
Okay let me explain to you, In cricekt games there's 2 teams, each team has 11 player, The team who score more runs wins, each team has 10 wickets to complete 1 innings, to complete 1 innings you need to take wickets of opponent team or have to complete overs There are 3 formats in cricket T20- each team has 20 overs Odi- each team has 50 overs Test- each team has 2 innings (5days) Test is complicated so i will skip that for time being So in stadium there's boundary line and every time ball crosses boundary line will give you run(points) So there's 4 ways to score points in cricket By hitting four, by hitting six, by running, if bowler bowls no balls or wide every bowler has 6 balls to bowl after 6 balls delivered caption have to change bowler, Scoring method If batsman face the ball and hit the ball and ball crossed boundary without touching grownd, it means it's a six, And if batsman hit ball but it touches the ground and then cross the boundary its four, so opposite team has fielder who don't want ball to cross or touched boundary, so, when batsman hits the ball and fielder stop the ball, two batsmans who are at the crease can run between the wicket, if fielder throw ball at wicket and batsman unable to reach to the crease he will be given out but if he reached the crease and then fielder throw at wickets he will be saved So now imagine one team for example India made 160 runs (points) in 20 over So now pakistan nèed to make 161 runs to win in 20 over If india bowl out or stop pakistan from making 161 then india wins and pakistan lose
