From Ponting to Lara, Gilchrist to Tendulkar, Wasim to Hayden, the legends came out and so too did the fans for one epic afternoon at Junction Oval in Melbourne
Make that 20 years and all these legends didn't even see eye to eye when inside the field. Lee used to break skulls with bouncers and Akram used to break toes with yorkers.
Lara is still playing with the same style, elegance, and flamboyance. His timing of the shots is incredible, and you are right he did not seem to be out of touch with the game.
@@soulmortal200 doesn't matter. Speed matters. 100-110 kph is optimal speed for swing. You think Rohit or Azhar know how to swing a ball? Nope. At that speed, the ball does it on its own
Watched the whole match & must admit Lara at 50 & Gilly at 48 looked the most fittest out of all. It appeared that they could fit into a national side right away.
Absolutely shocked by the sudden demise of Andrew Symonds. An audacious all-rounder with a great heart. He will be missed by the entire cricketing world.
I think Lara and Gilchrist at the age of 48-50 can still give young players run for their money. Its unbelievable how effortless cricket they play even at such an age.
There was a time where I used to wake up early in the morning to watch the match between IND vs AUS....... Anyone here called as 90’s kid???? Who got big memories
Hey Narren i used to wake up to watch every single match of Australia at between 4.30 am to 5.00 am n i still remember those cold winter mornings here in north India and the Legend Australian cricket team with the players - from Justin Langer to Glenn McGrath. I miss my childhood so badly. At the time of typing all these, i m literally crying man. TV me Australia team ko itna zyada follow krta tha ki subah apne aap neend khul jati thi 4.30 baje tak aur kitne bar to me school bhi ni jata tha. And in the evening time when we all kids used to go in the park for playing cricket i just used to try to copy all the 11 players batting -bowling -fielding style like Gilchrist- Ponting -Symonds- Hayden k khelne ka tarika and Brett Lee- McGrath-Gillespie- Kasprowicz ki bowling ka action, Ponting Symonds ki fielding style all copy. Saddest thing is that i m almost 28 now and whenever i go to my hometown ,where i spent my childhood with all my friends, mujhe sirf vo lamhe hi dikhayi dete h ankhon k samne ab na koi friends h na vo purane din na vo samay sab kuch badal gya . Today i m in my hometown to spend some time with my parents aaj k nostalgic match ko dekhne k baad jab me evening time me usi park gya vha sirf vo yaado me small kids dikh rhe the but park pura soona tha h bhai muhe ab bahut zyada rona aa rha h bs yehi share krna tha ...... at the end i would like to say ki present to ko jitna zyada ho sake jilo kyunki kal ye sab memories me hoga.
ashish tiwari wow ur whole text says how much u r attached, I am also feeling the same bro..... Missing those Golden days.... As u said v used to copy the actions of our favourite cricketers. Hv a Good day brother.
@@AmanSingh-he8bd they do these type of games every few years to raise money for charity, the players volunteer their time and the public donates money
I wish we had such frequent exhibition matches throughout the world. That way we can still see our heroes on the field. It still is a delight to watch 2000s players don the pads. Makes me feel younger.
No big build up..others have retires years ago . Watson still playing in t20 leagues.. He is no where near the legendary Aussies like haydo, gilly , punter
That old Australian squad could win a world cup even today. *Added:* You will never find an opener as destructive as Gilchrist who never seems to weaken with age.
These guys are still nightmares for the bowlers!!! OMG I love them all... I miss these guys cricket... They all are like Bryan Mills... Old but acquired special skills over a long career that make them a nightmare...
I watch this match on tv and what a good idea to raise the money for the bushfire and a lot of fun to see ponting,Gilly, and brian lara and Courtney Walsh
Watching this in 2024, forgot how wholesome this event was. Brought all the legends together for a good cause. I'd love to see this happen more often 😢
@@Hezklour partially true mate. They made our childhood golden. Some of these guys are above 50. Some have dealt with terminal illness. Some has slowing down diseases. Yet they play smarter and stronger than what we expect. I wonder how many og today's players would be able show when they reach their 50s.
This is exactly the kind of idiotic comment you'd find on every sports video ever not realising that the intensity of the game has increased to the point that even tests are edge of the seat thrillers when India, England or Australia are playing. Earlier it would have just been the home team destroying the others
