In this video, we are going to see how to make a perfect Cricket Turf Wicket.
A perfect cricket turf consists of a Mother soil bed followed by a river sand layer followed by red bricks layer (The number of river sand and red bricks layers depends upon the density of the mother soil).
In this turf wicket, we have used two layers of river sand and red bricks.
Once the river sand and red bricks layers are finished red soil is spread over it once the process is done Clay is used as the main material.
Why Clay is used?
The fact that cricket wicket soils crack on drying helps to restore porosity, aeration, and drainage which in turn assists in grass regeneration after a pitch is used for a cricket match.
After this process, Grass is planted on the surface which is used to maintain the cracks on the Turf.
Previously our ground consists of 4 Turf Wickets which were made in a different manner. You can see those videos from the playlist.
We have added 2 more Turf wickets which are made of a different type.
