I always just change both numbers in cricket because they resize it so what they think it should be not what you want it to be. This way you’re guaranteed to have the correct sizes. Besides the company themselves you have explained this better than anybody on YT and I certainly appreciate you. Thank you for showing your mistakes.
Marilyn, Thank You so much for this video. You did an awesome job. You have brought some clarity to this process. From one TRW CREW member to another, this tutorial is FREAKIN SWEEEEET!!!
Hi Tanyu and Marilyn. Yes this was a great one. I watched a different one about resizing in Design Space and I was so confused on the process. Thank you Marilyn for the tutorial.
@@MarilynDIAZDESIGNS I only have the tiny little Cricut Joy so this isn't something I'd be able to do but it does give me something to aspire to in the future if I ever do get one of the bigger machines.
Truly amazing video and I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge. It is very much appreciated. I do have a question regarding my flock. When it finished and I pulled the flock away from the sheet, I had to poke all the holes myself. Can you tell me why? That's a whole lot of poking lol. First time newbie, so any advise you can give me would be welcome. Thanks again.
So happy I found this video. I bought this template and was having a hard time in DS but your video helped alot. Will you by chance be doing a video for the updated file that included the lid and stirp? I'm having trouble with lid and strip rhinestone template. 😫
Hi Marilyn! Great video! Do you have a suggestion or it could just be DS - but I get to the point ready to cut, and it allows me to load my mat, and then when I hit cut, it freezes on "preparing". I've tried both my Maker and Explore. Any thoughts as to why it wouldn't go further?
Erin Young that is completely a DS issue. I haven’t used cricut in a couple weeks however using the web version allows you to cut it immediately with no issues and I know they are doing away with the web version, so if it’s still live, use DS web, if not, I’d contact Cricut. You can find a tiny link at your start up page if it’s still there!
Take it out of the box! Do your first project that comes with it, try an iron on image, make sure to mirror your iron on and get acclimated with your machine so you can do this! You'll be addicted! 🙃
Hi great video. Can I use a Cricut maker to do this or do I need an Explore Air Cricut? I’m trying to decide which machine to buy as I like decorating Starbucks cups and mugs etc thank you
Thank you for this video. I did everything you said as far as settings. I just got the Explore 2. But my flock iron-on, which i had to add in Material Settings, did not do what you did. 220 and everything. The whole hour it was just marking circles on the flock material. What can I do differently so it cuts?
Increase your pressure! Cricut must be doing something in the background to the software because when I went to cut my last few templates, I also had to increase from 220 and when I tried 225, it still didn't have a clean peel. Try a setting of 240. DO A SMALL SQUARE with 4 tiny circles within the square and see how it cuts. Keep using your fine point blade and revise your Flock setting that you made. Play with the pressure and do small test cuts!!! Im so frustrated with design space. Good luck!
No, once you put it on something, if you apply it with water, it’s moveable for a little bit, but once it’s on the surface, it’s there permanently. Now if you try to remove it much later, you may pop the rhinestones off while removing it. I would recommend using it on something you don’t plan to remove. It worked best on a completely flat surface. I have a decal on a stainless glass, my laptop computer, my car window, etc.
Hi Marilyn, can I use my Explore Air to cut my rhinestone template or would it have to be the Cricut Maker? Thanks in advance! I loved your video btw! :)
Cricut explore air 2 cant find flocked iron setting :( I think the magnet sheet 0.6 works Will let u know after the hr long cut process is complete.. regardless ur tutorial is a life saver
Hello Marilyn, I was wondering it you experienced any problems with the size of the rhinestone holes when you cut it out? I purchased the template mini pack 3 for the acrylic tumbler, but when I cut out the rhinestone layer the holes are a little large for my size SS10 rhinestones.
hello i did everything in your video , i bought the template from rhinestone world when i upload on cricut the lid and believe straw template comes up too how can i just get the rhinestone wrap and the vinyl wrap templates with out the straw and lid
@@Nvsandcreations there are 144 stones in one gross. Times that by 10 (gross) and you'll get the total of stones. For clothing or for pressing with heat, you'll want hotfix stones. Standard size and size I use is SS10. Flatback rhinedtones are for gluing by hand.
Hi Marilyn. Great Video! I need help! when I started applying the sticker alot of the rhinestones came off...Is it because I did not press it enough? Please help...Thanks
Did you press htv first? And did you make sure to press on the shiny side of the decal? You want the part that you peel off in the back. If you did this correctly then perhaps your temp or pressure is not enough.
Thank you sooooo much, no one explains how to get the correct size in Cricut. Can you tell me how many rhinestones you buy for the 24oz cup and what temp was your heat press on?
I had rhinestones already, however I believe there are between 2400-2500 rhinestones give or take. My heat press was set to 320° and my max time to press is 15 seconds.
Hi.. thanks for this video, I love you explantion... I can't wait to try, but the only material I can't find is bling everything material" when a put on Google just show me hotfix.... can you help me please?
Angelica Muniz Lol! No I haven’t done that yet, perhaps I will try it tomorrow, IF I can find the tumbler! I still haven’t found one yet. Angelica, just download the free version of Inkscape! Super easy!
I’m having a hard time finding the Plastic ones for some reason they are not getting the lids for them and they cannot sell that’s why I went with the acrylic ones . Thanks so much For all your help.
@@angelicamuniz5643 yeah when I went looking for the plastic ones, they had blue lids and I didnt want those. So the manager said, all I have is white lids no cups, so if you buy all the cups from the store down the street with blue lids, come back and well switch them out for white lids. Lol. So I did. Now I can't find the acrylic one.
Marilyn...thanks for the video, I loved it. I love all your tutorials. I am a cricut user and wanted to know if I imported the SVG into Sure Cuts a Lot 5 to get the measurements will that work?
Not sure! I would try but inkscape is much closer to a major design program and its free. I haven't used scal in a long time. I included a link in this video where it shows you how to bring it in on inkscape! Thank you for your kind words and for watching!
I had to create my own. Go to "make it", when selecting materials, select "browse materials, then scroll all the way down and select Create Material or (whatever it says to create your own. Make sure the fine point blade is used, make your own name, FLOCK, then do a pressure of 220 and SAVE your new material and favorite it so you can always access it. Make sure to do a test cut before cutting your big file. Make a half inch square and create a circle in the size .130 (the size of ss10). Put that little circle in a square and use this as your test cut. If everything cuts perfect, that's your new setting. If it cuts the circle perfect and your backing is still there, GREAT. If your circle didn't cut all the way. Increase pressure for 5 or 10. If it cuts all the way through the white backing, DECREASE your pressure. Hope this helps!
I buy them from TRW. They are called hot fix rhinestones. The size I use and is standard is SS10. there are 144 stones in one gross. You can Google what hotfix rhinestones if you want to buy elsewhere.
Marilyn DIAZ DESIGNS thank you so much one more question in TRW they don’t have the Bling anything Decal is there another place where we can purchase that material ?
@@Nvsandcreations no there's not, keep checking every day!!! He's supposed to have more in soon. Subscribe to their RU-vid to go on the lives and he'll give us updates! There's a live tomorrow!
So I’m having the worst time trying to upload the design. I downloaded the design after purchase, it opened in Inkscape and I saved it there. Now it is so large it won’t upload. My DS Has a message thread and orange along the top saying “wow this is a big image this may take a while” and then the screen will just go blank and it never does upload. Any recommendations???
Linda Alvarez hmmm....it is in alphabetical order. What machine are you using? Try the flocked paper but increase that to 220 pressure and cut a half an inch square with a .131 circle (that the size of a rhinestone hole) as a test cute before you cut something big. See what happens. If you try another setting, make sure the setting co-insides with the fine point blade.
I still haven’t been able to get my maker to cut the flock for the rhinestone it freezes I did do every step you said any other suggestions I can try or do you think it’s a design space issue
I followed exactly the way you said when I try to upload on design space it’s not supporting some of the element And it’s taking forever to Upload on designs please
The decal is extremely strong. I personally like the double acrylic wall cups that are taller because the lids rim and top are completely flat, unlike these, and once that decal is on, its not coming off. The rhinestones are hotfix so they are pressed into the decal so they're on there for good and the other side you peel off to stick to the cup is really hard to lift off. Once its on there, the cup is good. The acrylic cup is much better.
I send my new cup template to my Cricut explore air 2 and it does not work it just says preparing and that is it does not move from there. I’m confused from there. Can you help me please.
crystal alvarez are you using the craft file? If not, try that. HOWEVER, Cricut has issues today. I had been trying to cut vinyl for several projects today and it seems to be having the same issues. Exit out, restart your computer and try again. I think it’s cricut today.
Marilyn DIAZ DESIGNS I have the craft file and I added it have been trying for a few days now I had bought the file without lid and I test cut first. Then I got the new file with lid and now it does not want to work. I’m trying to cut out the rhinestone template. I can cut the vinyl.
Well thats not very nice. Lol. But they are diamond cut crystal rhinestones. Perhaps the vibrancy of the stones didn't come through as beautiful as they are in person. To each his own.
